It may also be that zodiac weapons will require players to complete coil 2.

I just find it weird that people believe there will be new allagan weapons without there being any mention or screenshots of them.

There was screen shot of them, it was shown many times actually. The Allagan tank gear is all over 2.2 video and so is the axe. In the live letter he also showed PLD shield and weapon.
