Moogles are not meant to be a playable race.

no thank you.
i hate moogles why would i want to play as one?

Yes, but those aren't the moogles we have in this game. Even if they introduced the Ivalice based moogles as a race it wouldn't work out just because of the lore of XIV as Lemuria stated above. Unless they introduce the Ivalice based moogle as a whole other race separate from the moogles we have now, then it would make sense.

Honestly they excuse enemies from the other Final Fantasy titles with "Ehhh the Allagans did it??" and I mean, you know, the witch kind of did appear for no good reason. MMOs like this one thrive on being a theme park that loosely ties all kinds of lore together to be a big wish-fulfillment deal, so while it might be a bit early for this, the lore argument really isn't a huge hurdle. I'd expect something like this in maybe a 5.0 or 6.0, or near the end of the game's life.Yes, but those aren't the moogles we have in this game. The quote was "they are not meant to be a playable race". As a general saying, they were a playable race in a few other titles. As far as FFXIV goes, yes they are not structured as a playable race especially with how the gear is designed for specific body types that the playable characters are made with.Yes, but those aren't the moogles we have in this game. In the sense of lore there are some topical and strength differences between the Mists and Twelve's Moogles. If that was all based on the difference in local environments. Who's to say a lost colony or forgotten branch of the family tree didn't wind up somewhere far-far away in another part of the world. Could they have changed more so over the many generations. Having already borrowed a bunch of models from XI , might as well reinvent Magian and Nomad Moogle types at some point as a divergent path. Either way as that stands Churning Mists and Twelveswood Moogles are currently the same as any other playable race in the sense of sub type. Lalafell = Plains/Dune, Hyure = Midlander/Highlander, Miquote = Sun/Moon, etc..
Aside from that I'd rather see a Moogle race through an obstacle course, a jockey for chocobo racing or other Moogle themed tomfoolery.
