i'm not going to try and read into it at all honestly. all i did was send the person tells after the party disbanded and even offered to go to one of the camps with the striking dummies and help him on his rotations. all it got me was cussed at by the person i offered to help and then around 20 minutes later i was in jail for "harassing another player".

i still don't understand how sending someone a private tell and telling them i'd help them out to improve instead of calling them out in front of the entire group made me the one harassing them.

Does that make me a bad player, just because I don't want to spoil my first time experience?

I really love this game and honestly, most parties I've had were really nice so far, but reading this thread kinda makes me afraid of later content :/
I really don't screw up on purpose when I do and I admit it when I think it's my fault (like when I had this huge derp and pressed the wrong hotkey, almost wiping my party >.<). I guess what I wanna say is that there's new players who really do wanna try and get better, we're not all bad, ya know :P
YOU seem like the exact type of new player i'd want in a party of mine. any new player that tells me up front they are new to something and asks for help i will and have went out of my way to help. don't let the higher level content worry you. with the mentality you have of stating it up front i do not see you having any issue in any content. sure there are those random jerks, but i'd rather kick a good playing jerk than a polite new player willing to learn.

You could have left it as a simple "if you ever need help with rotations, lmk" and left it at that. He probably did feel harassed by you messaging him. If he wanted your help, I'm sure he would have asked for it.

That's not to say you're not a nice guy for trying, but some people don't want your help.

but that is kind of the point. why should i have to guess where someone draws the line on helping? if someone wants help and asks for it then i'll give it, but if they aren't doing their job i just simply leave the party. some earlier was saying that was the elitest mentality. i don't look at it that way because if someone wanted help and asked for it i'd have stayed and ran multiple dungeons with them to help, but i am not going to do the entire dungeon for them and wipe over and over on content i have beaten hundreds of time while they aren't getting any better.

Leaving a party because they're terrible isn't being an elitist. That word gets thrown around way too easily nowadays.

You did hurt the poor thing's feeling. You prove him he wasnt as good as he thought he was, and he obviously couldn't stand it.
