There comes a time when it's your responsibility as a consumer to address what the smartest course of action is when paying for anything. If a company's "incentives" are too enticing to resist, that is on you. The debate is irrelevant. Whether the rewards are incentives to subscribe longer or not is also irrelevant. You are paying to upkeep servers and improve the game. If you don't think the subscription price warrants that purchase, then don't pay for it. It doesn't matter if there is a reward or not.
