Because I'm a guy and my character is a perfect manifestation of my personality. Plus I'm adorable as hell!
My main is female, as am I, but I've never really been able to identify with her.
I have a couple of male alts who told me their stories from the moment I had their names and I have a lot of fun thinking about them and exploring their history, getting to know what they did before I played them, what they like and dislike, how they came to be the way they are. That RP nature has just started to rub off on a female character associated with their back stories but they're still by far my favourites.
*Shrug* I dunno why my main doesn't have a backstory or personality of her own, or why several other alts don't have anything either, but Bysta and Rysta (and now Rymel by association) really speak to me somehow. I love 'em <3
I have the same problem. My main in beta was a male miqo'te who instantly had a story, but my current main who's a female roe just doesn't have any story or personality. Sure, I sometimes doodle them doing silly stuff, but she still remains pretty blank.
I have made my male alt be the warrior and fisher while my roe has the other jobs. Go figure. @.@ I just like having both, I guess. Just wish it wasn't so much work having alts. Otherwise I'd revive my beta cat and elezen... aaaand I have another seawolf that I also adore. /sadface
i like to be the guy who creeps up on female chars even though they are probably dudes too lol jk :P
Because all the girl characters (sans lalas) have "same face syndrome" :I
I didn't expect this thread to appear!.... Or maybe yes... Hahahaha.
Uh, well, even if my main char is female as well as the secondary. I only play male chars for 'fun' or 'for coolness'.
For example two of the alts are one "hulk wanna be" super green, super brutal. And the other is a highlander hyur also super brutal I called Chuck Norris, of course, pugilist. I can't avoid to laugh a lot when using them. Funny thing is that, someday, they'll be 50 too... But of course after leveling the catgirl and lalafell first.
Aside of the 'coolness' 'brutal fun' fact, the only fact that would make me, rather, force me, to use a male char would be too much people annoying me for having a female char, but so far it's not happening in this game.
Male Roes is all I need to say!
I'm a boring guy who always plays males in MMORPGs. Easier immersing myself into the game that way. I get mistaken as a girl regardless of the gender of my character, anyway.![]()
That said, I do regret not taking some more time to customize my character. There's a decent amount of customization for males, which usually tends to be lacking. And I can't remember what I wasted my Fantasia on.![]()
