A lot has to do with the FF Spirits Within movie costing too much with tons of loss and Square-Soft merger with Enix becoming Square-Enix.

Once they became Square-Enix it started going downhill fast and hard because of key members leaving the company to start their own, or join other guys who left other companies to start new ones.

Sakaguchi, Numura, and Uematsu. They are like the dynamic trio of Final Fantasy. Though, i'm pretty sure some will debate saying that they like Akihiko Yoshida's art more than Numura.

Anyways, i'm sure if those three would have worked together and made this game it would have that Final Fantasy feeling to it. Unfortunately only Umeatsu did, which isn't bad since hes a great music composer. But only one of them cannot give it the final fantasy feeling (sakaguchi and uematsu almost had it in lost odyssey); its a strange connection those 3 have for this series and we will never see it again.

My personal theory is the dev team is having trouble giving it a final fantasy feeling because they are not using the ingredients and creative ideas that Sakaguchi and Numura use in their games. I'm pretty sure Tanaka and Yoshi-p don't sit around thinking "what would sakaguchi do..".

Anywho, hopefully this game shapes up in the future and i'll be proven wrong.

hahaha. WAY back in the day...I remember Fairy's Reinhart was bilingual and I was part of first NA LS to do dynamis because we allied with a Japanese LS who basically used Rein to translate as we did it etc. the only downside was it was japanese prime time when it started so that was like 2am my time and would often fall asleep in the middle of it lol.

edit: Rein does the phrase "mobius soft" have any meaning to you?

I was Rodrik...a paladinI quit shortly after promathia came out because of the frustration of buying low level gear and having no space.. you made me a ftp hosting site way back in the day. "Knights of Legion" does sound very familiar...fond memories. You gotta remember me I always fell asleep in dynamis lol.

I was a really good tank but also an asshole, couldn't put up with dumb people so my reputation suffered a bit...I remember being very impatient and such...I'm almost 24 now and wish I could go back and not quit...

That does sound familiar. I'm on lindblum here but have barely played since launch...highest i got is a 30 pug. :/ but thats cool...if u can dig up old pics that would be amazing id love to see them for nostalgia purposes
