Whatever the reasons for the restrictions, they need to work them out. It's plain unacceptable denying people the opportunity to, for example, change that ugly ass horrible tin can stovepipe heavy armor monstrosity into something that looks decent.
SE just need to rework the vanity gears that use 3 or more slots.
They should do it like with the Dream Tunika. It only occupy the body slot and keep the hand slot free for whatever you want to wear there, but on the character it look like body + hand
But not the usefull gears, because they have already more stats to balance the other occupied slots out.
About the reason of the restriction
Example the heavy darklight (body + head)
If you put a 1 slot gear on it, no problem. Only that you can't wear a headgear to your vanity body.
But what if you want to put the DL on a 1 slot gear? Should it overwrite the headgear graphic? Should the headgear overwrite the DL head?

I'm sure in future patches they'll fix it like they always do.
Indeed. They clearly know how to make it so gear overrides the image of other gear without actually taking the slots. Fitting that into the vanity system isn't that far of a stretch.
The reason they didn't do that to begin with is because of the armor having real stats. I guess they feel it would unbalance other armors at that level because a player could use gear in the other slots. If they adjusted the stats to reflect body only then ya, it would be an easy fix.
If whatever you're shooting doesn't die after you pump 8, 32 caliber, slugs into it, it's probably a dragon.
Uhm, no... You're not transferring stats when you glamour a piece of gear, only the image. The reason they didn't do that to begin with is because of the armor having real stats. Does anyone know how this works with WHM/BLM weapons? Can 2h be glamour to 1h?
