    The only way to get the game direction to change is to continue talking, get your entire free company on the forums supporting ideas that they think will help change the game.

    If your wishes fall on deaf ears, vote with your wallet tell them that they are doing a poor job keeping your interest by moving on to a new game. It's harsh and it sucks if you enjoy the game slightly but in the end it's best to leave the game to grow on it's own if they start to add in design that you enjoy, come back in show them they have done something right.

    Why is when people mention drop rates it's always the 1% drop rate that gets mentioned?. It's not a hard thing to make the drop rate percentages higher?. But I guess if you all want to keep sticking with the OMG we don't want to go back to 1% drop rate argument then Go ahead!.

    I'm pretty sure more people quit FFXI over 1% drop rates than anything else. While it's thrilling to get that 1% drop, it's frustrating when there's 5 other people after it.

    Keep in mind, AAR is just half a year into operation with its second major patch coming. There will be more content, and content based on player demand and innovation. Eventually it will end up like XI with more content than you can shake a stick at (BCNMs, KSNMs, Dynamis, Limbus, Assaults, Nyzul Isle, Sea, Sky, Salvage, Einherjar, Voidwatch, Colonization, Campaign, Abyssea, etc...) You just gotta let it grow to get there. Unfortunately, without the lockouts, people would max out their gear super fast, and then be complaining there's not enough content, and quit because there's no challenge left.

    That's good for you.

    ESO simply bored me to tears (probably only about 1/4 of the people I talk to are really even interested in it... especially after playing the beta)

    No, the current reality is sitting in queue for up to a couple hours and then having the tank leave as soon as you enter the dungeon because they don't want to do it. Or sitting and watching the duty 'Confirm' window pop up over and over because people instantly leave the queue.

    Party finder... have you actually looked at what everyone puts there? Dating... hanging out... once in a blue moon treasure maps... end game battles stating know what you are doing or be kicked... For the most part its more worthless than the DF itself from what I have personally observed. Sure its intent is good... but people on the other hand... that's a whole nother story.

    I wasn't aware DoL and DoH have ilvl90 gear. Do enlighten me.

    Snarky comment aside, that's almost impossible unless you have superb luck with coil drops. If you only deck yourself out in mythology, that's 5910 mythologies for each job. That means you need a total of 53190 ToM to deck everything out in mythology, to make you ilvl 89. I'm assuming you have an extra ring from coil or extreme primals to make you ilvl90.

    Now, lets be fair. Lets assume that you somehow looked into the future and foresaw primal x weapons. Ok, that's 900 per job left over. You now require 45090 mythologies if you were to gear your armour and accessories with mythology.

    Now lets be generous and assume you SOMEHOW got a third of your armour with coil drops. That's roughly 30-40 coil drops, meaning an average of 1-2 drops a week from coils, ASSUMING you beat coils the first week it was out. Very unlikely, but luck fortunes the fools.

    That means you require a total of 30060 mythologies to deck out the rest of your gear.

    Now, from release to 2.2, there will be around 30 weeks. There were 17 weeks from 2.0 to 2.1, and 13 weeks from 2.1 to 2.2. Lets assume there were 18 weeks form 2.0 to 2.1, due to mythology reset during one of the weeks.

    Assuming you capped mythology every week since release, lets calculate how much mythology you would get.

    18 * 300 = 5400.
    13 * 450 = 5850.

    That means the most mythology you could have had, from release to 2.2, assuming my scenarios, is 11250.

    So according to you, everyone and their mum and grandchildren "Will have All class's to Itemlevel 90 by April 1st".

    You required a total of 30060 mythologies, assuming my scenario, by April 1st to be true.

    That means you'll need to farm 18810 mythologies from the 27th to the 1st. YOU HAVE 6 DAYS.

    Lets assume you do your duty roulettes, and ALL happen to give 90 mythologies. That's 540 ToM for, lets say, 20 minutes of work.

    You now need 18270 mythologies.

    Lets assume that every 20 minutes, you farm 50 mythologies by doing extremely fast turn 2 or turn 4, including loading screen, exits and re-enters and repairs.

    To acquire 18270 mythologies, you'll need to do turns 2 or 4 366 times. That is 7320 minutes dedicated grinding, assuming no wipes.

    A day consists of 1440 minutes. A typical human, no matter how hardcore, will require nutrition, rest, bathroom breaks and some semblance of a normal life. Lets assume that all of that will take a third of a day. That leaves 960 minutes a day for hardcore grinding. Each day, you have 20 minutes to duty roulette. That's 940 minutes a day.

    To acquire the desired amount of mythology, you will need 7320 minutes. With 940 minutes, and 6 days, you have 5640 minutes.

    That means you still need 1680 minutes, or in a better wording:

    You will still require 4200 mythologies to ensure all your jobs are ilvl90.

    My scenario is already heavily biased towards having coils being VERY GENEROUS with drops for a single player.

    Thus, it is close to IMPOSSIBLE to have all your jobs to ilvl90 by the next month.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    TL: DR
    Stop exaggerating. No normal human being will be able to gear all jobs in ilvl90 by April 1st. Hardcores might with the blessings of luck from Coils.
    SE needs to flesh content out a bit to at least tie them over to the next patch. Look at it this way, without lockouts and anything below 20% drop rates everyone would spam content and gear all jobs in 2 weeks, oh nothing to do now, unsub until the next patch. With lockouts, yes people might only log on for the reset, but you know what? SE has got money off them every month, therefore commercially lockouts are a very good idea.
    If they were to get rid of the weekly lockouts they would need a low drop rate and a cooldown on entering the instance to tie content over to the next patch, and keep the money coming in, I would use Dynamis and Limbus from FFXI as an example. a 3 day cooldown and so many super low drop the content lasted for years (before it was ruined).
    Considering that with the next patch there'll be new items higher than i90 anyway, your point really isn't much.
    I'm sure where your next response is heading, but even with the current situation where the highest crafted gear is i70, people still buy those even though Darklight is easy to get and CT, Myth and Coil items exist.
    Basically he's right, your arguments are gross exaggerations and when you feel the need to make gross exaggerations instead of being factual, it just makes your argument look very weak.
    As to the topic in question: there will always be people discontent with the game's direction. These forums are simply ridiculous with the amount of whining and complaining about stupid stuff, but then I log into the game and people are having fun doing stuff. That's the thing, people that are unhappy are more likely to complain, which is why so many (most?) of the topics here are made of complaints. People that enjoy the game are playing it, not posting here.
    Lockouts are always annoying, and even though people look back onto FFXI with rose-tinted glasses, lockouts existed there too, and some of them make Coil's lockouts look like paradise. I think the new Coil should use CT's system, because that way even if you have your drop you can help other FC members with theirs. Asides from that, what SE needs to do is keep adding content so you reach a point where most of the playerbase doesn't have time to do all the weekly content in a week, if they ever reach that point, lockouts will no longer matter. It took them years to reach that point in FFXI, FFXIV only has 6 months. Lets hope it doesn't take them as long as it did in FFXI.
