So when the best gear for a caster becomes a cowl... I have to wear a cowl as a vanity item too. That is just dumb.
I looked forward to this feature and the wait isn't worth it.

I'm also a bit blah about the glamours being so restricted. I'm sure in the long run slots issues will be smoothed out.. hopefully. I'm disappointed I'll have no way to incorporate some pieces from the crafter classes and some other pieces of armor, mostly. I know deep down that the system was likely to minimize possible confusion, EX:
"Look at that guy, he will be a great white mage! ... oh, it's a dragoon. who's the healer?"
Yet that still seems a bit silly to me. I feel like perhaps something like artifact gear should be kept within the job, as it's something iconic, at least allow some cross between classes. Immersion of things not making 100% sense is a moot point to me personally, so that's an argument I don't really consider. Maybe a tank using a cowl or cloth has some sort of mystic power or some kinda bad voodoo mojo.but I really really really want to use crafter class gear qq

I actually haven't looked too much into the gardening but I would like to. I haven't really gotten the chance to see info. But I like things along those lines.
I'm way, way behind in levels despite having the game since 1.0. I don't have a level 50 yet lol (3 levels left yay!). However I still find something a bit... "empty." A lot of that will take time to remedy, like more complicated, deep down-time content. One thing that bugs me though, and it's gear variety. I'm not a fan of completely vertical progression. All we are ever really doing is gaining the same stat here and there, nothing interesting is being thrown in the mix. There will always be min-maxing gear which makes out for an "absolute best" set of gear, but at the least it's not the only option. This might happen with an expansion, however, if they create more variety between jobs.
I'm not completely sure what else I expect, however. I can't comment on end-game content. Taking it slow!
Edit:
I think my favourite part of the patch will be feeling like a sailor scout with glamours. Using that prism to transform. moonprismpowamakeup yo
Now if they made an NPC to explain it, it needs to make Sailor Moon motions. The Aesthetician is fabulous; Serendipity wants some style too.

While I don't even belong to a free company at the moment hearing that they get gardening already gives me hope that when personal housing comes it'll be ready at launch.
The fact that it's already coming has me a bit worried that it won't have the depth of XI's system though but I'll try to remain optimistic.
My preliminary thoughts:
- Vanity/glamours is nice, but it sounds too restrictive. I know a several friends who were wanting to use Odin's armor, but probably won't be able to now, since it's the only armor in the game that takes up 4 equip slots.
- Unlocked Coils 1-5 is nice, though I suspect 6-9 will still keep the static once-a-week formula, which I hate because it causes too many inconveniences. I'd be happy if they did it similar to CT, where you can do it whenever with whoever, but you could only get one drop per week (or perhaps, per day).
- New dungeons and monsters look cool, but then again, I said the same for Pharos Sirius. I think we need less instanced content and more open-world content, and not just FATE's.
- No myth restrictions means myth gear will become the new Darklight. If this is the case, then we need to be able to do something with our old lower-ilvl gear, preferably something besides turning it in for GC seals. Being able to convert or meld it would be awesome, but I'm pretty sure that's never gonna happen...
- New tomestone currency will probably become the new myth, though no word yet tmk on its restrictions or what ilvl gear, among other things, we'll be able to get with it.
- New quests to further upgrade our relics? Sounds great, though I hope I don't have to fight Titan EX all over again...
- New beastmen dailies. I welcome this, as it adds more open-world/solo content and lore to the game.
-It's worded rather ambiguously, but I'd love to see personal housing in this patch. Somehow, I doubt it though, but it would be a pleasant surprise.Originally Posted by Naoki_Yoshida
To revisit an important subject, I realize that since patch 2.16, a number of Worlds on certain data centers have encountered problems with extremely high server loads, requiring frequent maintenances to improve stability. The server team continues to devote every effort to improving server stability and concurrency, in preparation for the future implementation of individual player housing. These server improvements will be implemented with patch 2.2, and we ask for your patience as we continue to address these issues.
-I'm curious about how a lot of this stuff will work. Maybe we'll see more in the upcoming Live Letter?Originally Posted by Naoki_Yoshida
Other features coming in patch 2.2 include master recipe books for crafters, gardening for free company estates, new hair styles, retainer ventures, big fishing, a challenge log, new mounts, and more.
- Still no word on musketeer...

What are you talking about? There are several nice mage sets up to 50, if you take the time to collect them. The level 15 acolyte set... the leevl 30ish battlemage set... Might be another 40's set in there but not sure...
The game does lack direction. I still dont know what the purpose of the game is. All I do is farm to get the next best gear to beat the next content that is just a -Hard- version of the previous content. I feel no accomplishment.
It's hard to explain... but the game lacks "substance"
Every gear feels worthless because it is replaced by something else quickly.....
Welcome to *all* newer MMORPGs. Glad to see you realize how the average WoW mentality forced its way into every other single MMORPG out there.... No really... The glory days of grinding a level for a month are gone. As is the sense of accomplishment and wonder. Gone are the days where they don't hand hold you. Gone are the days when the feeling of leveling up felt you you actually accomplished something.
This is the new 'style' for all those with the WoW short attention (instant gratification) spans and it (unfortunately) isn't going to change. Doesn't matter what MMO you decide to play.
For me, I just pick the world setting I want to live in and be done with it. Sure I like parts of the game and dislike many other parts, but... it is what it is and its where I choose to be![]()
24 man content isn't going to happen because PS3 players can't run it.IMHO, the problem is that they still focus on many many aspect of the game with a single big patch, and this is a good thing.. but i'd like to see more focus on end game content.
For example, instead of 3 casual dungeon, i'd prefer 1 single new dungeon and more bosses for endgame.. what about, 7-8 boss for coil instead of 4?
Another thing is that we still miss an "hardcore" 24 men content designed for guild.. and this is the biggest issue atm...
In TS we have about 7-8 coil channel.. and i know just my pt and a few of other guys because we can't play together cuz the main content is only for 8.
What about an hardmode CT ?
