Considering this is XIV ARR, it's handed out to you either UI wise or a simple talk to NPC and unlock everything.

^ Exactly why it's likely to be handed to you because people would complain about a "grind" even though 7 months later most people who actually craft and weren't legacy more than likely have full logs.

I get the idea you had. WoW had a book you could find in dungeons that'd teach a random recipe. But Blizzard about faced that at some point and, though the items still exist, you don't need them anymore and can use a new craft ability to learn them instead of playing the RNG game twice (hoping the item drops, and then hoping you get the recipe you wanted). So that said I dearly hope they don't go down that route.

I noticed that the Housing has its own sub menu in the crafting groups. I can see them using the Master Recipies as a sub menu crafting list with higher star rating crafts.

They did it to obtain the Master Ring of Blank - Whether its DoH DoL DoM DoW. It is the most obvious path to take to obtain.

That's what I'm doing right now with GSM. Need to make 270 different items. I'm a little over hallway through. Kinda sucks.

Still, already started on some of the other crafts I haven't hit 50 on yet. At least you get the first time craft bonus if you're not already 50.

Serious crafters were already 50 when the game came out. Secondly if you had some crafts that weren't 50 you spent less gil making certain things that were cheap to make or leve items vs doing the log to get to 50. This way you got to 50 spent the least amount of gil.

I'm wondering if this is a one time thing. Like to unlock level 90 stuff for say BSM you go do quest x...BUT you only get to pick ONE. That way the market does not become flooded with end game gear and it drops too 5 gill for a i90 piece.

They will require turning in a 2 star item melded with two tier IV materia, allow you to make the new 3 star recipes, but only after you upgrade your luminary tool with 3 weeks worth of the new tomes.

So the new servers don't have serious crafters?

Have you even tried completing your crafting log? It's not anywhere as bad as you paint it out to be.
