Pretty much everybody in 1.0 hated that double meld part. But it was mostly because of the fact that you would lose millions all to dumb luck. It wasn't difficult, just frustrating and a time sink you couldn't even make progress towards since it was all RNG.

As did I, that I don't doubt. However, he was referring to the meld steps that are required for the relic quest in 2.0.

Also, I've never seen anyone charge over a couple k (many do it for free) for any meld whatsoever. I think it's irrational to assume crafters are going to be filthy rich from melding alone, especially considering how many people have maxed out crafts these days.

Actually, this could be a really cool alternative to the tomestone grinding. Say after doing w/e dungeon requirement or otherwise finding some rare item, you trade it to him, upon which he challenges you to a one-on-one fight, 8-man or even 24-man fight.

Requirements: Beat Levi EX 10 times, proceed to turn 8 (1 turn before turn 9 weapons), 5 weeks of the new tomestones and beat Amdapor Township 100 times.

Receive weapon dmg and stat boost for current Zenith relic.

Hopefully the appearance will be redesigned. I hate how whm relic looks.

But yeah, in order to unlock it we probably have to do the new dungeons, the extreme primals, save up for the new tomes.

I wonder if there will be new monsters like chimera and hydra to fight?

Please please please please don't just be "Trade 3 300 Allagan Tomestones of Newness items to furnace with weapon" this time... At the very least throw crafters a bone and have it involve double melded weapons again (the iLv70 ones this time).

It should require a whole new quest chain. But something more creative than doing the EX primals.

When they changed the name of +1 to "Zenith", I feared they were backing out of their earlier claims of relic always being upgradeable to the current tier because "Zenith" means the highest point. I'm glad they still plan for relic to be upgraded past its Zenith form.
