SE really needs to stop stabbing themselves in the foot by describing things as "true power" or "ultimate form." It reminds me of any sort of anime with characters that have special powers. They gotta go train and get the ultimate technique which conveniently is just enough to beat the big Bad, but subpar when the new big bad rolls into town. Then they gotta go train harder and find the real ultimate power which unlocks the ultimate form...
of course, me, like an idiot, will continue to watch these...

Pretty much. This is why I'm not a fan of the upgrade system as it allows them to be lazy and be like "NEW WEAPON" (cause added -zenith and +5 to stats)!

They should make the upgrade a fun thing to do, gather 3 key materia from some Notorious monster, fuse them into the relic, then soak it into the blood by killing 100 tonberries with it... then at 3:00 midnight time, dip the weapon in Urith's gift pond, which will spawn a monster character with your skill set and class, you must defeat him solo.

Oh wait, that is too much hard work for this game..

Hope it will be a little more involved than simply "throw 900 of the new currency at it to upgrade". A short quest would be nice, with the currency requirement of course.

Leviathan Ex weapons will probably be i100, the upgrade will most likely be i110 cost 2-3 weeks of the new tomes and most people would be able to get it like Zenith, so no one will farm Twintania weapons. why i95 when you can i100 or i110? not like i95 vs i90 will be the difference between whether you complete the upgrade quest.

i'm seeing at least Levi Ex Clear, and you have to run through Township like you have to run AK for Relic, they might include all 4 Hard Modes and Pharos in it too.

By definition, Zenith means the highest point, or culmination of something. Also, taking into consideration that they renamed augmented relics from +1 to Zenith not too long ago, this coming update was done with that naming convention in mind. Therefore, I'm going with what some people are saying here: ex: Curtana > Curtana Zenith > Excalibur > Excalibur Zenith. This alone should last until the first expansion.

Yes! I suppose what confused me the most was that I never considered the relic itself to change names. So if the Curtana Zenith is the highest the Curtana will ever get, I assumed that that relic in particular would never go further.

However if Curtana Zenith 'evolves' to the Excalibur, then the naming convention would still hold like you said. If that's the case, I'm all for it.

Not going to happen. Last time it made things almost impossible to get because of that quest people will just charge tons of money and make a fortune from it and its the reason it was hated by tons of people.
