Are the names for Elder Staff and Omnirod mixed up?

For as many times as I've seen prostitution and rape incorporated into this game, not once have I considered Internal Release to be inappropriately named for sexy reasons. But now that I've read this thread, it cannot be unrealized.

You've seriously never seen someone use the auto-translator to make a joke about (Miqo'te)(rear)(Internal Release)(Yes, please)?

Rosa, the iconic White Mage, used a bow as a primary weapon. The first weapon a Black Mage uses in the first Final Fantasy is a dagger.

But I'm only speaking of relevant lore concerning the issue presented and answered. FFXIV Lore is all that matters according to the staff. Its a lot of pantie twisting for a severely minor thing. I mean I can't even call it an issue or complaint anymore. The relevance of the names and classes associated is strictly surrounding FFXIV Lore.

While this really shouldn't even be this big of an issue, why not make a petition, and not one on the forums, make a real petition and email it to SE if its that bothersome that you cannot play the game because the names don't fit to your liking.

Uh, whm uses staffs. Thyrus relic is a staff, Madman's Whispering Rod to get relic is a staff. The 2 star weapon is a staff.
Both whm/cnj and blm/thm use staff & wand + shield.

I'll repeat myself from another thread....

Conjurers use WANDS (one handed) and CANES, RADICALS & CROOKS (two handed).

Thaumaturges use SCEPTERS, BRANDS & CUDGELS (one handed) and STAFFS (two handed).

WHM and BLM both have rods associated with them, BLM having Stardust Rod, and WHM having Madman's Whispering Rod (and its PvP variant, Warwolf Rod) as well as Binding Rod.

Oh, and Thyrus? I consider that a rod myself - the body seems to be made of ivory or some sub-metallic material, unlike the near-metallic bodies of staves and the natural materials of WHM two handed weapons. Although Omnirod and Madman's Whispering Rod break that logic, being both wooden themselves.

The lore and who uses what is one thing, but just look at the design of the item and the names. If you had no knowledge of anything else and I asked, which one is the Elder Staff, and which one is the Omnirod? I think 99 people out of 100 would say the one with the wooden old man face is the Elder Staff, and the one with the glowing purple sphere is the Omnirod.

In the end it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the game one bit, but it's something that's a very simple fix.

Thyrus is composed of wood like every other CNJ/WHM weapon, but if I recall correctly, it's special because it was made out of petrified wood of a former Guardian Tree (or something like that, I haven't done the WHM quests in a long time so someone may be able to correct me).

Because petrified wood isn't strictly wood anymore (more like stone), Alchemy is used in the quest rather than Carpentry (pretty much every other CNJ/WHM weapon).
