SE how can i believe anything you say ?

Ever since BETA open weekend.. RMT's have been running all over my world on Courel.

I am sure it's the same on every other world. I mean NOTHING and really NOTHING has been done to stop this from becoming a plague on our servers.

Every day i get personal /tells to my character within city walls and more recently i get personal /tells outside when farming items , participating in FATES, trying to enjoy the game. I looked on my Black List and 198 spots are filled with only 11 of them indicated as being ( Deleted ). 190 RMTS that i personally Black Listed are still on COUREL with nothing being done.

Purge your blacklist, SE does not delete banned characters.
And they are definitely doing their work, but so are the rmt.
There is no permanent way to get rid of them.

So you saying.. purging my Black List will stop me from getting : 15 personal /tells every 5 min. from RMT's ?
No, SE is not doing there work. You want to know what they are doing.. they are banning Paying Customers that buy Gil. They are not doing anything from stopping RMT's from spamming you to Buy the gil.

So believe all the lies you want , but as of MARCH 2014 > i get more buy from FFXIV.GIL.COM spam messages an hour than should be allowed.

Keep telling yourself that, in the mean time I have 3 names on my blacklist of which one is a permanent entry.
The number of tells I have gotten this week can be counted on one hand.

If you are really getting this many tells your server probably doesn't report them or it is filled with buyers.

While true that they do not list as deleted, purging your list has way to many confirmation prompts (that start out on "no", so you cant just mash the numpad-0).

There's a crapload of RMT out there, and the same bot-teleporting miners i reported easily a month ago are still happily strolling (flying/teleporting) around.

While surely your blacklist cannot be taken as an indication if people are banned or not, the rampant and blatant botting, hacking and spamming isnt stopped even remotely :/
I like the game, i dont currently have anything better to do most of the week than to simply play, but i easily rake up 50 names in a week again.

1) Purging your blacklist takes too long, this needs to be adressed.

2) RMT need to be stopped WAY sooner than they are now, if they are even stopped at all. I understand the whole hitting people at the source, but it causes nothing but frustration and anoyance and surely doesnt make me enjoy the game more when i see the same botters get away with it for weeks. Not to mention the spam that cannot be stopped this time around.

On FFXI there were... "other measures" ... one could take to make sure no spam was able to be send to you. Here you cant even be anonymous, or not displayed on a search list. You log in, and 5 seconds later as if they know you're there you get spammed. Get out of an instance? Yep, they will get you. Somehow they can monitor who logs in and who isnt in the game.

By delaying bot banning you're making the botters get too much out of their playtime and money. It's very viable for them to have to buy a new game/code every month because they will have raked up a lot of money by then. It's NOT viable for them if they are banned the moment they are noticed as botting, within the day for instance. The rate at which they would have to keep buying copies of the game will essentially end RMT as we know it.

This game has no "freebie" option.
Those accounts that the RMTs use to spamtell are being paid for. They have to be.. there's no other way. Unless SE is giving THEM freebies.. then we have another issue.

Implement a report feature. Assign some to investigate accounts (as I'm sure they might already do). The report function would make this A LOT easier. As Surian says permanently and as quickly as possible ban accounts and their IPs that get reported and are found to be soliciting RMTs. Contact their ISPs if you can. put pressure on them because their customers are participating in illegal activities.. Or does that tactic only matter against torrents and pirates when it means YOUR money?

You'll see a significant drop in that type of action right away.

However IF those accounts are stolen or hacked. Offer players who are able to regain access to their accounts a chance to get it unbanned. Once or twice. I mean account security is YOUR responsability mostly. Once or twice you get hacked.. okay I can understand that. More than that.. and it's probably something stupid that you're doing so no body to blame but yourself.

What it basically comes down to is this...

You either dont want this crap in your game or you just really dont care.

And really.. threatening your customer base with bans and disciplinary action is the laziest way to do anything about it. And to be quite honest, it doesn't work. There's still a market despite those threats.

However you CAN do major damage to them if you really want to, and it's not that hard.

The moment they realize that they're just going to have to keep continually buying accounts the quicker they realize that THAT will be cutting significantly into their profit margins. The only thing that matter at that point is how fast SE is with the ban-hammer and how many idiots are willing to buy Gil in a game where it isn't hard to get anyway.

Another way would simply be to offer RMT services yourself as many MMOs in the recent past have done which also significantly cut down on 3rd party RMT crap.

Go into your chat settings, make another box just for tells/shouts/ect.., turn off the ding sound, and there you go, you are now ignoring the spammers forever.

(Deleted) != banned. You can have a banned character on your blacklist. Usually if a character is listed as deleted it means that the RMT themselves deleted that character to get around peoples blacklists.

I don't know about you guys but I reported 2 level 50 Miners (botting), specifying name/location/cordinates(x/y) and within 24hrs they were banned. with full crafted gear.
I waited a day before reporting, the following day they were still online botting so thats when I file a report.

Wow, very disturbing that they made it all the way to level 50 nodes. That sux.
