Thank god for that, I can't even begin to imagine how droll this game would be with only one healing class/job.

Forcing out a class/job just because of a "need" at that moment is never good



If they decided to wait & work on it more, it would of most certainly went out better but we'll never know

I think SE has more surprises up their sleeves, by the looks of it the 2.2 update is going to be bigger than we currently expect. Knowing SE they never show all of their cards before release because they like to surprise us! If you think they rebuilt an MMO in under 2 years just imagine how much they can accomplish for an update.

One thing is certain, they will be introducing a new race which is exciting (i’m betting on Bangaa looking at those ears) from Dorma and assuming Dorma becomes and accessible area of the world they will most certainly be adding new classes one of which I willl be a new tank class because SE would be foolish to add just new DPS classes considering the current imbalance. If they do there will be at least 2 if not 3 new classes.

Major content patches on paper always look....dry.

2.1 seemed like "Oh we'll do this all in a day...", took a few weeks for any of us to get 'bored' of Patch 2.1, it really did breath new life into the game. If 2.2 is able to do the same thanks to small details it'll really help.

One such example is the addition of idle animations, where if you stand still for...5-10 seconds your character will maybe start to rub their eyes, /flex, scratch their tuckus.

How do you know what Yoshi P is going to announce at the upcoming Live Letter on 3-21-2014? He could reveal anything, including a new Class, Job, Race, Mount, etc. I think you severely underestimate the creative force of the current FFXIV ARR Team at SE!

Also, in my opinion, this thread is not 100% nonsense. As a Final Fantasy fan, I for one do not feel foolish about speculating and discussing the possibilities of the next patch/release. In fact, I find it to be quite fun. I pay my sub, I play my character and I enjoy the community (which posts like this thread are part of).

And let's not forget all the teasing they did before launch. They enjoy getting the players worked up over a new class. I'm expecting foxclon or soken to show up with a pirate hat.

Also Yoshida has said that classes/jobs will be released in patches.

To be fair, we knew about Arcanist and Summoner since 2012. It was announced during the Final Fantasy 25th anniversary.

Only Scholar was new. That was the reason for the sceptic. Because Arcanist had already Summoner and there were no other classes known for Scholar.

Wow, that's really interesting! So it's possible then that SE is teasing us with Musketeer and Samurai at the same time here? I personally know that some players in my FC are VERY excited to play a Samurai in FFXIV.
