Seriously? Leviathan = Ocean = Limsa LominsaOK so based on one of the new images for the upcoming 2.2 Through the Maelstrom patch (see Gamer Escape news link below)... I think we might be finally getting Musketeer!
http://gamerescape.com/2014/03/05/ne...the-maelstrom/
If not, then this is just a huge tease that SE is pulling on all of us. Why else would this image of Merlwyb be featured?
Sahagin = Ocean = Limsa Lominsa
Maelstrom Grand Company = Limsa Lominsa
By the Twelve! We will be fighting along side Gilgamesh for once! It's a dream come true!
Also GILGAMESH BOSSS TRIAL!!!

While they were certainly secretive in the lead up to announcing Scholar, it wasn't like we had no information until it was released. Unless by released you mean announced, in which case fair point.
From the journal of Louisoix Leveilleur:
"Lances of light herald the dawn"
Lances of light = musket/rifle?
Musketeer confirmed!
OP you are just hopeful
She is featured because they are setting the path for Leviathan and SE said that this new patch would be centered around LIMSA period! nothing more to it
The thing that caught my eye in that article was this
"In his never-ending quest for power and glory, Gilgamesh─self-styled warrior of legend and collector of fine weaponry─now roams the lands of Eorzea.
When a series of events leads to confrontation with this formidable foe, you must prove your mettle or see your blade lost to his ever-growing collection."
If we lost to Gilgamesh do you think he is gonna take our weapon? >_> or just whenever a party loses to him he gets their weapons as his 8?
If you re-enter the instance instead of getting the 'echo buff' you gain the 'excalipoor' buff. Meaning your weapon's ilvl will be reduced to negative 90 and makes wonky sound effects.
I HOPE.
Ideally at Highbridge. "Battle at the Big Bridge" and all. This seemed to have been somewhat alluded to at the end of the 2.1 Hildibrand quest.
I've always seen Minfilia as more of a diplomat than a fighter. That dagger she has is more akin to a can of mace than an actual battle weapon.
A.) That's a pistol, not a musket, and she's used (well, waved it around anyway) it in previous CSs if you'll remember.
B.) Merlwyb is the leader of "The Maelstrom", why would she not be featured in a patch with a similar name, and in continuing story missions that likely have something to do with it?
That's not even a minor tease. It's not even a tease at all. You're just seeing things that aren't there because you want to, instead of looking at plain facts.

Not to mention that pose she uses has been used a lot, and she does practically the same thing in the Armorer quests.
Yes, we're likely to get this class but uh, that picture is not in the slightest bit a tease.
