i dont think thats a viera. viera ears are on the very top of their head, those look like they are on the sides of her head.

just a thought...what if its a kitsune race?

I'm sure it's been said, but people keep repeating the same thing over and over and it's really grating.
The old poll in 1.0 NEVER said, "Viera." The poll stated "A beastlike tribe (for example, the viera)."
It was using the Viera as an example to specific another animal-hybrid humanoid race. It was never stated that they meant the viera specifically.
That being said, I am really curious to find out what this person is.

Yoshida admited that mentioning Viera sort of tipped the scales in the favor of that option.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
You guys know we're not getting ACTUAL Viera, right?
Just like we don't have Mithra / Galka / Tarutaru / Hume / Elvaan in Final Fantasy XIV.
All that I expect is a relatively tall race with long fluffy ears. Perhaps they'll have weird feet that make high heels sensible footwear too. I don't think they're horns since the underside is too concave and everyone expects a Viera-ish race because of the old poll. I also don't expect them to be playable for a while. I imagine they want to introduce the race as NPCs for a while before they're integrated into Eorzea enough to be common adventurers. Right now I see them more as an excuse to bring a source for Ninja and Samurai lore. And since Yugiri looks like she could be a Ninja, it's probably more a teaser for Ninja.
