We could actually do a lot of things with lnc, but it seems most if not all are going to be hated by some. Sam lnc - "samurai historically used katanas" what a load of bs since there were polearm wielding samurai too. Give em a wyvern "the lore of this game the devs are making up as they go along is to sacred to change" , viking " Omg SE had never done that before it sucks". Seems anything new, different, original, and fun will be hated by the majority of the forums.

I agree; most ppl say individuals do not tank because of the attitudes within the community/responsibilities associated with the job (Subjective), however, I want to tank, but the gameplay of the current ones are lackluster imo.

    1. Samurai did not!
    2. Dragons are evil in XIV!
    3. Vikings!? They use hammers and axes (or something)!

Joking aside, yeah Samurai did use polearms too; naginata and yari off the top of my head. But people always see samurai as katana wielding because of anime, FFXI (A+ rank in great katanas, B in polearms iirc), FFT (iaido skills from katanas), and probably other media as well. As for wyvern pets, while it would be cool, some dragoons might have trouble micro managing a pet since they're on the frontlines. ACN/SMN/SCH is ranged and are able to heal their pets, DRG wouldn't be able to and it's hard for healers to target other player pets if they aren't mouse over healers.

The Vikings thing I just kinda said... Cause I don't know how they would be if they were implemented. Could be for lancer, could be for marauder, could be for gladiator. I don't know. I just want Red Mage and Dancer at some point.

As for geomancer situational attacks that depend on where the target is standing would be pretty hard to implement, probably be even more so than blue mage and it's usual learn skills.
I honestly kind of of wish black mage would get a dark spells since they seem to hardly ever get anything aside from the fire, ice, & lightning spells in ff games aside from a few debuffs.
    So, like geomancer (FFXI)? http://seekersofadoulin.com/geomancer

Im excited for the new jobs and their possibilities, when they eventually get here. What I think is going to be funny is when they finally release so many people's favorites and they're not what they expected, and then the forums will flood with QQ

Lol, smn comes to mind. I understand that XI and XIV are two different games, however, all I ask for is a little creativity, that is all.

BRD is the most obvious example of this, though i like it personally. All the people talking about "OMG I WANT RDM or DRK" (the two most mentioned, with ninja being next...just, no. You THINK you want them, because you want the ffxi version in ffxiv.....lol @ you.

DRK maybe....RDM? Not unless it's totally different from what people are expecting.

Make healing breaths like they were in xi no need to micro manage. You do this combo it shoots out a heal. You do this combo it shoots out a attack breath. Why do people think micro managing a fairy is even hard? A good sch can be in cleric stance dding and just tap a spell on it. They even let us macro it so if you had a lnc with a support wyvern he can take two secs out of his roto and press one breath. Or macro it to certain abilities like a self buff . Just according to this logic there is little room for a bst thar isn't ranged. Maybe some dds would like responsibility.

Just saying there is room out there, to make jobs outside of the norm, a dd with some support that adds more responsibility than a brd, someone might like it, and also that micro managing fairies is laughably easy, and barely takes any time out of normal gameplay, so they could do the same with a wyvern, or any future pet job. I really don't want to see a bst with a bow lol, they have that in every other game, FF is one of the few games that tends to give them melee weapons, and according to the logic of the forums, we couldn't have that in XIV it'd be too hard. They could change lnc when it turns into a support job, just like they've stated they'd change classes if its job was drastically different.

Not arguing, just saying there is room for tons of things in this game, and we're kind of looking at it through a very narrow lens.

To be honest, it would be for the best with all of the veteran players of the game if we started with, not only new jobs, but new classes for people to level from the ground up. With some new base classes- or heaven forbid some new base classes PLUS some new jobs, but that sounds a bit over ambitious- then you would have more to work towards.

One of the hardest parts of this game compared to FFXI is that a job unlocks at 30 and you STAY level 30. That, combined with the low level cap, means that there is less of the game to work towards other than gearing yourself out once you top out your levels. Heck, I came back to the game less than a week ago after barely touching it and I already have WHM, SMN, AND SCH unlocked on a new character, and I have Marauder at 15 and almost ready for tanking dungeons when I get mad at how long it takes to get into dungeons on a DPS or Healer. It's just that easy to get halfway through the game.
