Don't let this idea die! Bumpity bump. :P
Also, the post regarding this idea on the Japanese forums has almost double the "likes" that this one has, so I'm guessing they are more on-board for it than we are? Or there could be other variables.

I love the idea. This needs to happen.
Niota, your idea would be so cool and fun that NO WAY the devs will implement it. It would be like Blizz implementing a day/night cycle again. These things just don't happen in the real world. :P

Was going to say this ^. The plan in beta was that you could use chocobos in dungeons as a party member. But it was delayed and obviously nothing has been said about it since.
Been asking for this for a long time. But haven't heard any word from the devs. Hopefully they'll make it happen soon. Just seems so odd right now to have a companion and still feel forever alone lol
Wa! DROOOLS... awesome idea! BUMP!
Love this! Not only solo (1/1), but 2/2 and 4/4 would also be pretty epic.
Another idea is as mentioned above, where you take control of them when you enter, and the player characters have to stay in the beginning. One theme could be the players all get caught or captured, and it is the chocos to save the day!
Kweh!!!
Alrik.... That idea is AWESOME! Yoshi, make this happen! <3
While your at it, can our poor chocos please get Protect :3. Feels odd that my Defender choco can't even have Protect on.
Sounds really fun maybe make the dungeons and loot random. This would make use of the very useless Chocobo atm. Loot could be just vanity things or even gear for the chocobo!
