They could've gone with the best vanity system ever, DCUO. Once you equipped something, or maybe bound something, it was added to a dropdown on the vanity page, so you didn't even have to muck about with a separate gear tab.

There is of course the new i90 crafted sets coming out. If you want to spend the extra myth, and cash and depend on a crafter to not accidently NQ your new gear or break it when crafting! And then of course you could add materia to it.

Though, there is always the chance it could actually look cool. However, sadly... based on what we know... Wouldn't you all agree it's going to look totally generic and probably use models that already exist in the game? Like, YAY! I get to look like a level 12 archer again! WOOT!

I really hope they stop blatantly rehashing gear so much, even CT only has 3 unique designs, it really comes off as lazy, just as lazy as rehashing mobs even if it is Final Fantasy after all.

we already have recolors for allagan sets. healer and caster are recolors, and physical dps is a recolor too.

It's not my idea. Nor do I like it. I was trying to recall if that's what Yoshia mentioned in a interview.

My idea would be just have an extra tab called "vanity" on your character window that you can drag/drop equipment in. If a slot is empty in your vanity tab, then it would just look like what you have in your normal equipment tab. There would also be an option to toggle the entire set. Easy and simple. No, random atuning equipment to crystals stuff they plan on doing. :X

He mentioned that vanity wouldn't work in PVP instanced areas, but for dungeons I haven't anything to suggest it wouldn't there.

Maybe we'll get a surprise in 2.2. Something like yoship saying that i90 allagan and myth gear will be dye-able so that there might be reason for some people to keep returning to coil1.

Though I agree that the brown color is a bit iffy, I still like my allagan casting robes.
