Japanese CompanyHow am I cherry picking? The majority of NA/EU and equivalent countries voted for content over everything else. The majority of Japan voted for Battle overhaul over content.
You do realize there are multiple player bases, right? So the correction is infact a correction -- West feels content is most important change needed and the east felt battle system was as it beat out content in votes. That's not cherry picking unless you're really stating Japan's playerbase is "the minority".
Japanese Players > Everyone Else.

how are you cherry picking? how are you not? if 1000 people were asked a question and 670 of the 1000 voted for something then the 670 is the majority. it is saying that more people want something. you corrected someone for saying that the majority of overall people voted for content. that is fact.you cherry picked japan out because it was the answer you wanted. How am I cherry picking? France had the highest vote for lack of in-game content coming in at 50.9%, which means French players make up the majority of the game's player base?
I really don't understand.
if the overall total wanted battle first then it would be correct to correct him, but by picking out numbers to change the results you are cherry picking results.
i will use your line of thinking. the majority of mississippi residents voted for mccain to be president. it doesn't matter that the overall majority of people voted for obama mccain is the president. do you see this same logic used in this scenario. i cherry picked mississippi and said they wanted one thing while the majority of the voters voted for something else.

Ugh, just thinking about all the things we would have gotten by February if this hadn't turned into "letters from the new producer XIV" makes me sick.
I hope somebody tells Yoshida that the English word "producer" that they're also using comes from the verb to "produce" something. Usually that doesn't just contain letters with empty promises...

Now if only that would be right...Japanese Company
Japanese Players > Everyone Else.

Tanaka essentially created Final Craftasy XIV.
He seemed to have lots of ideas of how fun crafting would be, solo and in groups. Battle and Content were afterthoughts of what you could do after you donned your newly crafted item(s).
I'm not knocking crafters. I know many peeps love it and I am thankful you do when I need items and gears and stuffs.
It just seems obvious that the Old Team spent alot of time on DOH & DOL and not as much on everything else.
Papa was a rolling stone...wherever he laid his barbut was home.
sometimes i wonder if elexia and jennestia are just playing a role. this is completely accurate, the poll very clearly shows, exactly what percent of people polled wanted content. it is teh majority of people hands down, no argument.how are you cherry picking? how are you not? if 1000 people were asked a question and 670 of the 1000 voted for something then the 670 is the majority. it is saying that more people want something. you corrected someone for saying that the majority of overall people voted for content. that is fact.you cherry picked japan out because it was the answer you wanted.

even on the jp side, it shows that content is a strong desire even in japan.
He chose to to battle first for his own reasons, but the truth is, what the game needed more than anything else was content. no where did it say that battle needed to be totally reworked either, that was his own choice, what was said was that it needed to be improved. Hes the executive, he is payed to make descions that is fine, but dont believe the hype that this was the only way to go.
And the real problem is not even his plan, the problem is he is this slow in executing it. Content, according to his plan is still a far way off. probably 1.20 at absolute best, which at his current rate of progress, is 5-7 months away. And they still havent even come up with a time frame for LS fixes, player companies or etc.
in fact by his own predictions, battle wont be finished till 1.20, crazy really.
edited : to be 1.20 and a little more optomistic on time frame

don't forget the new job system. if i am a r50 gladiator i will become a r50 paladin as soon as i finish the quest.sometimes i wonder if elexia and jennestia are just playing a role. this is completely accurate, the poll very clearly shows, exactly what percent of people polled wanted content. it is teh majority of people hands down, no argument.

edit: yoshi is doing just like tanaka. he got opinions of the players and said "no, i want to do things my way". this is the very complaint people had against tanaka during the beta forums for not making the corrections needed. yoshi got the opinions of players through a poll because he thought they would fall in line with what he wanted, but since they didn't he decided to do it anyways.

Give us a day, we'll have like 90 reasons why we should craft in a group.
edit to be on topic: I'm one of the various North American's who voted for battle system adjustments. I thought "what good is new content if the battle system is meh and boring", and then I realized once they added quests this was to satiate the "content" people, and I knew it was a half-assed attempt at it. If quests were effing content, I would take bake quests to get my battle system adjustment sooner, just sayin'

The game is quite simply understaffed, to the point where they cannot even do so much as add jump without doing a fiscal survey first.
We shouldn't have to prove why features like naval combat and exploration, mounts, jump, and group activities should be beneficial to a social, adventure-based platform like an MMO. It's merely a question of how to include them rather than whether.
Why does everyone have to make a federal case out of everything? Just implement something already, omg.

He may have had lots of ideas, but the crafting system he approved for final retail release of FF14 is not fun at all.
If they spent a lot of time, then it was a lot of time wasted because the crafting and gathering systems in this game are chock full of flaws.
