I noticed no one said thanks yet, you took even the bothering of doing a video showing how these macros work...

(Personally, I don't rely much in macros because it is said they are a bit slower than doing commands yourself... But, targetting the pet for healing, retarget the monster, etc... Can be a pain if you are using a gamepad, I suffered a lot with that with my first character ACN. And of course target manually the pet, healing it, retarget the mob, etc... Took me much more time than what this awesome macro.)

So for what I explained above... Thanks! Nice work there. ^^

Oh, and welcome to the forums, it is strange to see that someone's first post has to be with sharing good information for the others. I hope you'll continue checking forums. Get fun with your arcanist!

    hi,

    Thanks for your macro.
About heal self, I suppose you disabled the function that makes spells cast automatically on you if not in range of a valid target? (I think I saw it somewhere )
Because when I am smn if I target an enemy and cast physicks it casts on me and I keep the enemy targeted.

    Question.
    Why not just use :

    /macroicon "Physick"
    /ac "Physick" <pet>

    /macroicon "Physick"
    /ac "Physick" <me>

    ??

(and as Thaliss points out, for the second one, <me> should be default behaviour if you cast a heal spell on an enemy, so you can probably just get away with a regular unmacroed Physick)

I've found Sustain is usually quite a bit better at higher levels for keeping the pet alive.
SMN just don't have the MND to get Physick to scale well as incoming damage ramps up.

I tend to use a few macros on my SMN, but they're mainly for buffs (e.g. my Eye for an Eye macro first tries "/ac 'Eye for an Eye' <t>" then "/ac 'Eye for an Eye' <tt>" so that I don't need to target-swap to buff the tank)

I don't know, I play on pc version with a controller and none of that stuff works for me, I have not disabled anything, I'm new to FFXIVARR and macros in general but the ones I posted are all that seem to work for me :3

I also am not yet high enough to use sustain ><

    Thanks for the macro!
Unrelated question: Can I use my PS3 controller to play the game on the PC? Do I need any special programs to do that or does the game automatically syncs the controller with it.

First, you need to get an add-on program to get the PS3 controller to work on PC. I forget what it was called, a quick search will net it for you. A long shot, though not sure if a PS2 controller with a usb adapter may work for FFXIV the way it does for FFXI.

I just thought I would mention this... regarding your second macro. If you are targeting the monster and press a heal button (example: physick), it will automatically use that spell on you. There is no reason to target yourself and then retarget the enemy.

Can confirm PS2 controller with USB adapter works - it's what I use with Glovepie.
Technically just connecting up the joypad to the PC and getting it picked up as a valid input device via DirectX works; but I've found keypress mapping to be far more versatile than relying on the crossbar system.
