    The launcher won't launch.

The game has worked fine for the last week, but now every time I try to open the launcher, a window pops up that says "Unable to complete version check. [30605][20448][10009][10019]" I'm not sure if something is wrong with my computer or if it is the game itself. I've re-downloaded the game and it still does this. Also I can't get onto the square-enix website from the computer I have the game on and this is the only game I have that is giving me this problem. If anyone has an idea of whats going on please tell me, thanks for any help.

Yep the same thing has happened to me.. here is what happens... about 2-3 days before a patch for the past 3 months this window will pop up, after the patch is installed the game will work again, but because Square WILL not do anything about it, (trust me ive spent hours on the phone with them for this issue... no results) you will have to pay for about 27 or 28 days of gameplay instead of 30 or 31. I am actually bout to leave this game for titanfall now because square NOT doing anything about it.. so i feel ya.

I'm having this same issue. it works fine on PS3 and the PS4 beta is running fine, but i can't get it to work on my PC. It was working fine on Friday, 28 February, then when i went to launch on 1 March I started having issues. For instance when I launched it the first time it said it could not verify patch notes.

In order to fix this, I dropped the Windows Firewall from the control panel. Which fixed that issue.

But then it got stuck and said it couldn't complete the version check. Just like your problem
So I did what I did before and dropped the Windows Firewall and this time I turned off Antivirus for an hour as well.
I also ran FFXIVboot.exe as an administrator (right clicked the executable and selected "Run as Administrator"). I also, under the PC's admin account, unset the Square-Enix Folder's Read-Only setting (right-clicked and went to properties). Even as an admin the properties kept resetting to be read-only.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I've tried resetting the computer a few times. Nothing is working.

Try turning off Bad Web Site blocking on your firewall. I use Vipre, and when I toggle it off, my launcher works again.

Windows own security will not allow you to reset certain attributes on files in a folder by clearing them on the folder itself like it used to (the option to set the change on all subfolders and files is killed on protected system folders). Read-Only is one such attribute. You will either need to do it as a batch in an elevated CMD prompt using the ATTRIB command with specific switches, or browse down to the files themselves to set the bits that way. You can select all the files you want to change in a folder with the shift or control buttons though for selecting multiple files at once.

You may have fallen prey to the classic Windows NTFS file corruption as well. Might be worth running disk checks to repair any potential file system errors.

The last couple days, several people have noted that it has indeed been an issue with their security software. I haven't run into this problem myself yet... I have my folders and the known SE IP addresses white-listed though, so may be why I haven't seen it since it was an issue with browser plugins back in Beta4. May be worth looking into though--add exceptions for the install folder and your character data folders, then add exceptions for the IP's your system is using (can track them in resmon or netstat via command prompt). Also, make sure your browser add-ins and such are up to date (Flash and such), as this was shown to be an issue back in the fall. It could even be your browser security getting in the way for that matter--could try lowering privacy and other security settings there to see if it resolves it.

A few people found suspicious software under their Add/Remove Programs list that seemed to be interfering as well. May want to run a full malware scan just in case.

no idea how to do what you said in the first paragraph.
My PC is only a week old so I doubt it's NTFS corruption, besides, i've uninstalled and reinstalled it several times to make sure it's not a problem with the folders, unless the folders that are getting installed are the problem. I've even uninstalled my antivirus software to see if it was blocking something stuff even though i had it turned off. Still nothing. Of course I did that AFTER doing three computer scans to see if it was malware or something. I have no idea how to change security settings on Chrome, if that's how I need to do it.
