    Attribute's Effect on Botany
Two attributes will have an effect on your ability to successfully, and efficiently log and harvest. Your Primary Tool is effected by Strength. Intelligence governs your Secondary Tool. There is some debate on the actual effect STR and INT have on performance, however it is safe to suggest that increasing them will respectively increase your chance of success and or increase your yield.
This information is incorrect, and is using DoH information and assuming that it applies equally to DoL.
STR is success/accuracy of the mini game/swing bar, INT is yield, for both tools.

    Skilling Up With Levequests
Regional Fieldquests offer an alternate route to obtaining SP. Depending on the Fieldquest's Rank (1,10,20,etc...) you can obtain a great amount of skill points if the Grade from which you are logging is of sufficient difficulty.

A few things to keep in mind when using Regional Fieldquests to try and help skill up:

■Always try the hardest available Fieldquest. Remember more Output means more attempts at each location and thus a higher possible SP gains. If you notice that you are having a hard time succeeding, it may be wiser to switch to gear offering more Gathering.
    Output doesn't effect leves.

I can second this. There's a certain amount of attempts for a leve-node as far as I can tell regardless of the output stat. (I believe the magic number is 15)

So far a wealth of information copied to a single handy spot, but a bit light on new insights.

Looking forward to additions, especially of the new insight sort.

Of particular interest to me is whether the first place you stop the swinging ball should be different depending on your desired yield. Also, what among the Guild Mark items is really worthwhile.
