    Take a string of 100 damage auto-attack swings across a thousand hits. Using my value of 508 critical hit there is a 16.97% chance to deal x1.5 damage. I have no idea what the values for strength are but just using your rough analysis of 87~95 after removing 40 STR just assume that with 100 damage auto-attacks you would be losing ~8.5 damage a swing. Now let's disgrace math:
    100 damage hits over 1,000 swings = 100,000 damage
    170 of those swings will register as critical damage: 50*170 = 8,500
    == 108,500 damage
    Now adjust the strength and critical values. We'll swap the assigned values (-26 STR = -5.4737.. per swing; 540 critical hit = 19.20%):
    94.5 damage hits over 1,000 swings = 94,500 damage
    192 of those swings will register as critical damage: 50*192 = 9,600
    == 104,100
    This is incredibly basic math involving none of the modifiers that go into this game but try to bring what might seem like an insignificant drop in damage into perspective. Strength is king.

    Something that would be harder to weigh would be Determination versus Critical Hit. The weight difference between stats like these is sometimes so small that they can barely be seen as superior to the other, and in the case of PvP you are pigeonholed into a specific item setup and only allowed to socket one or the other, thereby invalidating statistical freedom. The only reason I consider Det > Crit is because I feel safer in expanding the baseline instead of relying on percentage-based modifiers. I don't know which one is statistically better than the other, I just feel safe, and that works for me.
