The idea behind duty roulette was to get solo players through the queue faster and give people a bonus for queuing solo. If you are playing with friends you already get the bonus of faster and smoother runs and less time in waiting for a queue.

I usually heal or tank and a buddy of mine does the opposite of what I am doing. Since the introduction of Roulette we noticed that the amount of time we were spending together hanging out dropped to almost never. So we stopped doing Roulette because we want to hang out together. SO you just lost a healer and tank from the DF, does that make it faster for you?

As others have said letting groups do the Roulette defeats the purpose of the Roulette itself. If bonus tomes are worth more to you than playing with friends then use the Roulette, if not que up the old fashioned way and enjoy your dungeon with your friends, even with 2 DPS que times are much shorter than queing solo which the bonus tomes make up for. Sounds to me you guys want it both ways, bonus tomes and much shorter ques but you'll get that at the expence of others just trying to clear content or que up solo, I don't think that's fair and I don't think they'll implement it.

But that leaves 2 DPS spots open, people in the Roulette can fill those slots so you'll only negatively effect other people's que times if you and your friend stop doing dungeons all together or you only do pre-made parties. If you still use the DF you've made no difference at all by refusing to Roulette.

I am maxed on tomes dont care about them, I really liked the randomness of the Roulette system, I can only queue so many things but Roulette pulls from a larger list of dungeons, story modes, etc. I cant queue normal ifrit but I can help people by randomly joining roulette. Sometimes we just get bored running the same dungeons and want a 'random' change on scenery. We play because we like the game not because we need anything from doing this anymore.
