    Yep I understand all that My assumption was that characters were platform specific (ie. My character created on PS3 cannot be used if I play on PC and vice versa).

    Nope, you can play any characters on a single service account regardless of platform as long as you have a registered copy of the game for each platform within that service account. If you had two separate service accounts, then you wouldn't be able to play them cross-platform. So just make sure that you link them together properly and you're good to go.
