Ok guys, I am going to play this on PC!.

Hello all,I played this game on PS3 by now,but now I want to play it on PC!. I saw there is a cheap price on Steam and I wanted to buy it,but I've heard I can't link my account?.
I mean,if I played already on PS3,can I play with my same account on PC buying the game on Steam?. Will I still get one free month if I already had a free month on PS3?.

As far as I have learned, you cant link your old account to steam, you need to buy a new game for that
Nobody hinders you to log in with your old one though
You only will get the free month if there was no FFXIV subscription before eon you your SE ID

If im right you dont need to buy it on pc if youve already bought and registered your ps3 version, all you need to do is download the game (i think the link is still up in the forum) then let the client run all the updates etc, then you just log in as normal.

I tried doing that, but sadly I still had to buy a new pc version, it asks for the CD Key or something.

Kimikryo is correct you will have no issue using your account. I moved from PS3 to PC about 4 months ago and am using the same character. You are going to love the change.

I got the game at launch. I played the Beta on PS3, and bought a copy of the CE on PS3 and a physical normal edition copy for the PC. Now. I can play my same character on the same server between both editions. My account also had the free months for both the PC and PS3 version, so I essentially played free for twice as long as someone who only had one edition.

As for the steam edition this should answer your question:

This is incorrect. To play on both console and pc you must own a cd key (whether physical or digital) for BOTH systems.

    I linked this post:

2nd thing to notice. Buying the game from steam gets you a code to register with SE. Once doing so it don't matter if you ever login with steam or not. You can still download the installer from SE and use that version on your pc. Steam client download just makes it more convenient if you reload your pc much or ever. True if you elect to only use the Steam installed version than steam must be running. No big deal. I do it anyways.

3rd releasing it out for now at 14.99 is gonna help many more players come to the game and that is always good for business.

I really do not see the issues releasing this on steam present. How is this bad in anyway? Maybe some more understanding on how steam works might help but I am not gonna explain that right now. If you use steam than you can read. Rest is up to whoever thinks steam is bad to figure out.

Square never allowed 30 day free time to be added to a previous account. Look a ffxi as an example. 30 days is always to promote a new player with time to level and see if they like the game. If you are a player it's assumed you don't need anymore time to see if you like it or not.

Bolded for emphasis. Buying the steam version is the same as buying the physical copy. Just one is tied to steam and the other is not. The part people are getting confused is; if you already own the PC version you can not put your already PC version in steam and download the steam client version for free. You'd have to rebuy it from steam to use the steam client. Steam has no effect on your Square Enix account, which houses your characters.

It will work. The only thing that is limited is that you can't link your current account officially to Steam without owning a Steam copy. This is only on the Steam side of things, not Square Enix, so it only affects if someone wants to have Steam track their stats, etc. Since you're buying a Steam copy, you'll be able to do that just fine, and you can link your current PS3 account to it via Square Enix's Mog Station website. There should be an option at the top of your Mog Station page to add or link the service. I don't think you want to add a new service account, but add a service within your current service account, just to be clear.
