PS4 Beta Confusion

Ok just installed the beta and waiting for release but I'm confused with a couple of features.

First of all I linked my PC account with Sony PSN account which cannot be undone.

I remember reading that I cannot use my pre-exisiting PC character in PS4 beta which makes sense, so how do I participate in beta ? by creating a new character on that service account strictly for beta test ?

Also upon PS4 release will I be able to play my current PC character on both platforms with no restrictions, for example playing PC version at home and continuing progress on my PS4 at a friends place ?

Did you buy the ps3 version of the game? If you did then just upgrade to the ps4 version once it comes out and the answer would be yes. If you didnt, you'd have to buy the PS4 version to play on it.

And to the first question, yes. Its on a different server so you start with a new character that will be deleted at the end of the Beta 1 phase.

Correct, you will need to make a new character for phase 1. At the end of that phase character gets deleted. Beginning of phase 2 you can import your main character(if you have one) and use it from then on. And since they are now linked, yes you can use your character on either system, but since they are linked to the same account, you cannot be logged on at the same time even though they are different systems. Such as having your main logged on to your PC/PS3, and having a alt/mule character logged on with your PS4. This cannot be done. Only way this is possible is to have 2 separate SE accounts.

Uh Oh, When I downloaded to My PS4 it actually gave me the option to use one of my characters from 2 other accounts and I chose my prized lvl 50 PLD! if they let me use it or not, now I be confused, I hope they dont let me use that one then delete it?!

simon, at least make sure to save all yer data to the plastation plus cloud-at least I did do that, if you have a PS plus membership, may be a saving grace I dont know, but for real I dont really believe they'll del our chars.

Characters are saved server side, cloud shouldnt have anything to do with it. I don't believe they would just delete our characters, there must be some failsafe to recognise the time put into our mains.

Damn you folk and your PS4 beta. Still not up on the IE store. Grrrr
