what happened to musketeer?

Didnt this get mention in beta? Im pretty sure thief got mentioned as well.

It didn't get mentioned, it was more of a theory craft based on the fact there was an Arcanist guild in 1.0 and a Musketeers guild. Arcanist was released and assuringly Musketeer is next.

Yoshida wants a stealth based class such as Ninja, Thief, Samurai or more casting classes ( Ideally Red Mage, sadly they're having extreme difficulty in balancing as to where to put this and how to work it).


As a lot of assets already exist for Musketeer it's safe to assume it's 'next-in-line' due to the poll results and the presxisting content for it. But thief was still VERY high on the original 1.0 poll for what people wanted to be added to the game, so you can expect Musketeer or Thief to be added in a later patch (I recall them saying it was going to be added in a patch, not the expansion), so 2.2/2.3, keep your eyes peel'd!

But the Maelstrom update is the perfect opportunity to have the introduce the new class/job (I doubt its even close to ready though, no hints were given), yet the same happened with Arcanist where we weren't informed of its addition until the last minute, so stranger things have happened!

This is very very unlikely though that we'll see this any time before 2.3
