@Michaelasso & @Naryoril: What I was talking about is the Enemy List.

If you look at the left side of this screen, midway down, you'll see the enemy list. What was NOT showing for me due to default window placement was the color-coded symbols on the left - blue-round = no agro toward you, yellow-up means agro increasing, orange (yellow-red-alternating?) meas agro dropping, and red mead you have their agro. It seems a bit quicker than the number-and-bar. However, I"m playing with moving the party list to right-of-center to also see that better!

Note: you might have to go into your Character settings, UI settings, near the bottom turn on "Display enmity list" ...

Your stance (Shield Oath for PLD and Defiance for WAR) turns off when you die

I am terrible at remembering to turn Defiance back on ...
