Personal feelings about personal shops?

Sorry, but people shopping in a housing ward are not going to want to enter every single house to see if they have a shop. I would much rather them be outside for people passing by to see. I wouldn't mind the option to put it inside but forcing inside would be wrong, especially since most houses in each ward are small.

If you bothered to read, it says they would be placed in the gardens of houses..outside.

That is not the case at all on Balmung.

Still not a fan of the whole fracturing the market thing. The broker provides a centralized location to do business; I have no desire to have to sift through personal shops to find stuff.

While it may be a bit early to start discussing details, we can confirm that in patch 2.2 players will be able to place an NPC in the garden of their free company estate and open up their own store!

You may not able to answer this but here goes. Will we be able to use the vanity crystals to change the retainer's look? My FC house, which I am close to to saving for, will be on an RP server and serve as our headquarters. As such the NPC would be better to be in Flames gear for us. So will customization be available?

Not sure how you exactly want this to work. Do you mean as a way to replace the market board entirely? Or would they co-exist?

Kind of awkward, but they did bring it back with the addition of the search system they later added in 1.x.
