If they did this i would spend more time in dungeons than anything else and I have a lot of friends that class them self's as Casual gamers i told them my idea and they thought that MMORPGS already have that kind of stuff. told them that FFXIV doesn't and they decided that there gonna wait for Elder Scrolls online to come out the think it will have more opened world content cause of the other games in the series.

If SE do this not only will they get more casual gamers that will stay but the hard core gamers would be happy to. And the Fans of FF imho.
