    they have already stated that crafting is only there for filler gear, nothing else. the do not want crafting to be a huge money maker and they never will. only reason i leveled almost all crafters is so that i could meld, craft filler gear for my DOM/W classes, and gear for my FC/Friends. I knew full well that crafting would never make money. come 2.2 it will start to then die off when everyone has their coil gear. so unless the new gear is going to be BiS for some classes. you wont be making any money anytime soon.

    They need to improve the system so that:
    1. People can put up crafting requests from materials in their inventory. Crafter never possesses them at any time.
    2. With #1 in place, add rare/ex materials that drop from high level dungeons.

    Then...all will be good. (while crafters laugh at dungeoneers bitching)

    That seems completely counter-intuitive and stupid to me.

    If they're deliberately making crafting not worth it, why even include it in the game? Why make it a thing and then purposefully make it crap?

    I, too, feel that crafting gets pretty useless the closer you get to level 50.

    While it's understandable that having awesome gear from dungeons is necessary, it doesn't mean that crafted gear should be locked out from being as potent.

    It requires only one thing: materia are to improve the item level.

    For example, to get a piece of armor of iLvl 90, I could either complete dungeons a number of times until I get the drop or collect mytho until I can afford it.

    Or, the crafting way, you craft a piece of armor that is iLvl 80 (for example) then affix 5 materia to reach iLvl 90.
    Due to the difficulty of the initial craft and the high failure rate of affixing 5 materia, actually achieving iLvl 90 with a crafter would take more time but would be rewarded with a slightly more customized set of stats (+vit, +critical, +str, ...)

    I really hope the devs put their mind to it because crafting is nice and an integral part of the game.

    That is a complete assumption and no where near accurate to what the OP said. I , personaly, have learned that relying on dungeon drops is not a very reliabel way to gear myself up. Also i like crafting , i like to be able to help other ppl in my FC. I also like to be able make gear for any alts i might have. As it is now, crafters are getting completly shafted. If what you say is true. Then crafting should never have been in the game in the first place if it was intended to be irrelevant

    Most players just do not know that melded HQ Craft Gear is better than Darklight. What crafters need to do is advertise the quality of their wares.

    Currently there are only 3(Myth tomes, Allagan and CT) major sources of crafted armor better than HQ Crafts and those 3 sources are currently limited to at most 1 piece each per week. Crafted Accessories may be superior to any of the currently available Primal/Allagan Accessories if properly melded. Only weapons could be considered to have a problem and all of the Relic in the game already require crafter participation to craft.

    Once i80 to i90 crafts are added there should be an upswing in the markets.
