I'm not sure why anyone would have an issue with this suggestion. If you don't like gays ignore it.
When people post saying things like "the gays are trying to shove things down our throats" it's just a veiled way of saying "gay people offend me"

No one is standing infront of you shouting in your face. It's a forum topic. If you don't like it, don't read/open it.

You aren't being forced to read things. If you choose to read them and get offended and claim things are being shoved down your throat, you're either incredibly illogical or hiding the fact that you just don't like gays.... that isn't difficult to understand.

And I'm telling you, that you're wrong. Shoving something down someone's throat is just that....if I make a thread telling people I'm holding a Mormon rally in Ul'dah what's that? Shoving it down someone's throat. Does that mean that people that don't like it are offended by my religion? Nope, sure doesn't, it just means they prefer not having real life stuff being shoved into their video games. It's not hard to understand.

This is an internet forum. By your logic, I'm going to go make a post telling everyone that we need a straight people only parade now, no agenda, just some fun for straight couples, and watch the impending rain of terror that happens from the community. But hey, if they don't like it they don't have to read it right?

Wow, again, I was unaware this is real life....I guess people will never just let it go that this isn't reality, it's a freakin' GAME. I guess the game of LIFE must suck then too, being a board game, it's also built around straight relationships! :O They hate gay people!

Interestingly enough about 5 years ago "Life" became lgbt friendly

If people feel discriminated against (often by people like you who veil their distaste with arguments of annoyance) they fully have the right to feel proud about who they are deep down.
And since it doesn't actually affect you in any way other than appearing in the forum feed, any argument against it really is illogical.... unless of course you are only making the arguments because you morally disapprove of the subject.

There are real life people playing this game
And there are people RPing
If your argument is people shouldn't be allowed to RP as LGBTQ because this is a game and not real life, that honestly just seems really bigoted.
And if they are allowed to rp their character as LGBTQ then why not celebrate it?

Actually, here's the big thing, I know it's going to be hard for you to catch on to. I don't want any form of real life "issues" being force fed into my hobbies. I don't sit back and watch The Matrix because it speaks to me about the real world struggle of the poor people against the evil government. No, I watch it cause guns and martial arts are rad. Same thing with games. I don't play them to sit back and consider the real life struggles of the LGBT crowd, I actually think about that enough in real life, because I think it's hard as hell on them and a lot of things are unfair. But come on, we're really grasping at straws here to try and act like this is some crusade for human rights in a game that was created by people, people who hold the right to make it however they want to.

I RP my character as a straight Lalafell, should I also "celebrate it"? Man, I can't wait to see what happens then when I form my "straight only" FC, and start the "straight parades". Keep in mind folks, no agenda, no hate, just fun. No, that would just make me look like a jerk, and I would be universally torn apart on the forums and in game and probably blacklisted by most of the community. But it's cool to do it on the other side of the fence guys!

Fiorana, thank you. The other thing too, is maybe some people DO disagree with the LGBT movement.....maybe their religion dictates that it's not ok, and they're against it because of that. That's their CHOICE, their OPINION, and their RIGHT to disagree with it as long as they aren't hurting or tormenting anyone else with their views. Whether you like it or not. And when stuff like this is brought into an open internet forum, what the hell do you expect to happen?

Well, we would get a forum ban if we said it straight out like you want people to so it won't be said that way. You know what though, when no one says anything about orientation doing game related stuff everyone seems to get along fine, its only when you bring your real life drama in the game that stuff seems to get out of hand.

That's equivalent to saying in the 40s if no black people ever brought up that they were discriminated against there wouldn't be any social problems.

The reason people keep bringing up lgbtq issues on forums is because they often feel like people are treating their choices as "wrong"
They aren't telling people "you better become lgbtq or else"
They are just saying "hey, lets meet up and hang out"
And that's apparently a huge deal and a terrible thing to do.

Again, watch what happens if someone makes a "straights only" FC, or starts similar parades....I'm going to keep this quote, cause it applies to that too. And when you say "Oh they just hate gay people", I'm going to remember this quote and use it....cause it's hypocritical for anyone that supports this to say otherwise of the opposite side of the fence then.
