Hence why I said PEBBLE THROW GO! They could also have Provoke via subclass and things like that, but yea atm we only have shoulder tackle and that's not what I am really looking for in a claiming ability.

Seriously even drg has piercing talon. It's a class known for it's ridiculous jumping heights (distance). There is zero reason monk shouldn't have a range attack of some kind.

They do. Shoulder Tackle. Its considered a ranged attack. It just also happens to move your position to the monster. You can hit/agro/claim/tag monsters with it that you can't physically move to, due to holes or obstructions.

Distance closers and a ranged attacks are two very different things with very different functionality. Namely the cd. Now it isn't so bad but you're talking about an ability that originally had a pretty ridiculous cd for a solo class ranged skill.

It doesn't count, imo. It has a delay from starting it to claiming at the monster itself. Also 30 second CD isn't viable for farming. And what, I should HAVE to level another class up JUST to farm to enjoy/profit from the game? That's bullshit. Each job should have a fair advantage when it comes to farming and MNK and DRG already lack in that department anyway.

Monk is a close ranged melee job, they're not sitting back with the mages sniping all the demon walls with their pebbles. They be whackin' with their fists. Even their current 'ranged' attack focuses on the fact that they need to sit on the mob for a good time.

Just because X job can do something, doesn't mean all jobs should. If SE wanted projectiles in game, they wouldn't have removed them with 2.0.

Edit: You don't HAVE to level another job to level or farm. But you have to level a ranged class to have ranged abilities.
