Will the FFXIII: Lightning Returns Collaboration Event come back next year?

I'm not sure if I should ask this to the developers, as there really isn't much to be developed about this, as much as to Yoshida himself...

I have a small FC of pretty new players, roleplayers, or people with alts, as well as friends who are concerned about how they will not make it to lv42(or 45? I forgot) to get the Lightning/Snow body piece in time, in particular two friends who have started recently and who are, as of now, level 21 and 28.

One of them as been burning through the main scenario like a madman in the hope to get to complete the event, while the other, as regretfully as possible, decided that a single piece of lv13 equipment isn't worth ruining the storytelling of the game and fast-skipping the beautiful atmosphere this gave provides, and I can't help but agree.

I, myself, have been leveling all these months to get to be ready for the Lightning event in February, and I can say, it wasn't fun. I don't think I'd do it again if I could go back, even.

I am not sure what kind of burden or problems repeating this event on a yearly basis like the other seasonal events would have on the system, the servers, repercussions on the economy, whatever. I am no game developer and have no knowledge in such matters. But I know that my friends, and probably many new players or alts owners out there, would be relieved to know that this event will come back in the future, and that they don't have to storm through the content to try and claim an item never to be available again.

I want to believe my thread to be bringing up a legit question that will not arise hatred and disdain among the community. Please keep your replies to a civil level, thank you!

Honestly, I highly doubt it. Why? Because the event is specifically to promote the launching of the new Lightning game. While they could bring it back randomly if they so chose, it screams much more of a promotional event that likely wouldn't return again since its usefulness will be at an end.

And with that said, I have some RP characters that I simply cannot get leveled up in time either. Sadly, they won't get the items. But you know what...not everyone should have access to everything. Look at it more like the event rewards were designed with people having gotten the game at launch in mind. If anyone has been playing since launch and hasn't made it to level 45, they have issues.

So, for those that didn't purchase and subscribe during this time...maybe they'll miss out on the items from the event. Just like someone who decides to start playing the day after the event is over. In the end, not everything ever released can be given to everyone.

Yeah i was wondering about this myself, i recently made an alt on another server to play with a friend and as much as i would like to get to 40+ event stuff i'm not to thrilled on rushing through the storyline, EVEN tho i already did it on my home server and know whats coming up story wise i'm one of the few people that actually enjoyed it and don't mind going through it again at my own pace.

I also have friends who are interested in the game but because of RL issues at the moment they will be joining me sometime at a later time in the near future, and which i'm sure they would have liked to experience this event and it will be too bad they will miss it...not to mention the shantoto and DQ events!.

You make a good point and as much as it's sad to read i agree with you and see what you mean, it's just too bad my friends who will be joining me in the near future won't get to experience these cool events and get the nice items that come with them, but that's the reality...oh well.

Just adding my two cents that it would be really nice to see this event (or some way to get the equipment) come back again. I really wanted to get the Snow outfit on a male alt, but seriously underestimated the amount of time it'd take me to level a new alt from 1 to 45 (why the heck does the event have such a high level requirement to finish, anyhow?)... and have pretty much given up on it. Sad, because I like the Snow outfit.

It also would have been nice to maybe let the female characters get the Snow outfit instead of/in addition to the Lightning stuff, which is alright but I don't like as well. Maybe let the male characters get some variation at least on the Guardian Corps outfit as well. :/

I have an alt that I'd really like to see get the Snow coat but he isn't even level 20 yet so that's not going to happen. At least it's easy to get the hair styles and weapons at low levels. Maybe SE will see how many appreciate the appearance of coats and give us craftable access various styles of them, at least for use with the vanity system.

PS. I'm seeing a lot of people around the higher level quests trying to figure out where to get the weapons from. Farm parcels at the level 15ish Lightning FATE's and then buy the weapons (1:1 ratio of parcel to weapon) from the supplier standing next to the NPC that gave the first quest.

Lets hope there will be another event for the Guardian Corp gear set in the future. I would really like to get my hands on the gear myself because i just started the game about 3 months ago and have 2 lvl 50 jobs and a lvl 48. I would like to see the even unfold in person instead of looking at other people play it on vidoes online. So lets keep our fingures crossed huh?

Event might come back when they release Lightning returns on steam, but I dont think it will come back. If the aniversary event is the same as the one of last year, then imo, I would find it very lazy from SE. They should put the items from Lightning returns on the mog station for a low price or bring it back when the game launches on steam.
