An MMO where people are allowed to talk to you, what an insane idea. NOBODY wants that.

If you people want to play alone, buy an offline game and play that. Shut yourself in, no telephone, no going outside, you might have to interact with someone.
Way to completely blow it out of proportion. If someone really doesn't want anyone talking to them or to play with minimal interaction, there's already an option for the rather extreme you're suggesting: turning off your damn chat. People that want to be antisocial will be that way no matter what you do or say. That's completely different from people who don't wish to hear from RMT spammers that never usually interact with low level players anyway.

I have plenty of friends, I join public party finders often, and I'd say I talk to a fair bit of people every day in this game. But I can honestly say I haven't spoken to one level 15 person over the past few months outside of Duty Finder where most of the people aren't even on my server. That option barely hurts anyone.

I think they shouldn't allow people to send a tell until their character has aged a certain amount of time. RMT are not going to wait 2-3 hours after creating a character just to spam people. That's bad business for them.

Make it to where characters must be more than a few hours old before allowing them to send tells. It takes this much time to get through the initial city quests and get their feet wet in the open world for a legitimate new character.

I haven't read all the post, but this just seems to be a migration thread for all elitist douches. Sure it may be annoying to read tells where people are like, "what's that", "where is that", or how do you unlock that", BUT we all started somewhere. Stop being douches and rude and pass on what you have learned. That is the blessing of experience!
To the OP, really? No one forced you to do anything. Go buy an island and build a big house, and live there... -_- I hate sharing a planet with you.

I have never ever received any tells like this, compared to the hundreds of RMT tells. Most people who need that kind of help usually use shouts (or looks it up on a wiki). And I don't think anyone on here is complaining about hearing those kind of tells. They're complaining about only RMT tells.

The biggest mistake a lot of people on this thread are making is equating "Does not want to hear from RMTs and never hears from low levels anyway" to "Refuses to help new players".

I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and assume this thread is in response to RMT spammers and not the OP being some elitist douchebag.

While it is thankfully easier to add RMT spammers to our meager blocklists, I do wish that it were easier to report these instances of RMT.

Preventing anyone from being able to communicate in any fashion that are below a certain level will not hinder RMT spam, one need only look at how well that worked in Aion. (Hint: it didn't. They found another way to spam.)

Really the only way to decrease RMT spam is to make the market less attractive. Sadly, as long as there are those who will buy in-game currency, or supports buying (either through apathy or genuine support), there will always be RMT services and, thus, their spam. (At this point, I'm all for inflicting physical violence upon people who buy in-game currency from RMT service providers.)

The market is honestly very unattractive right now, and that came at the cost of our economy being crappy with almost no demand for anything. The only thing right now that you need a large sum of money to obtain is a house.

Gotta say, one of the worst ideas ive seen in a while.

There are enough elitist d-bags out there as it is. I would rather receive the random /t from an RMT than turn a blind eye to a new player asking for help.

The elitist d-bags wouldn't have helped anyone anyway. If anything it would be saving the new players from the potentially toxic interaction it dealing with one.

both are very true! Too bad there isn't a personality test before playing this game. That way all the elitist douches can play with each other on the same server, the hardcore yet not elists on their server, etc etc

Wait...so what does your house have to do with tells from low level players again? You could have put anything at the start of the post. Like, "look SE after spending all morning making some breakfast, I'm getting tells from low levels and it's annoying." It would have made just as much sense. Am I missing something?

Or were you simply trying to say "I'm important and the peasants are breathing in my general direction." Clarification would be appreciated.
