Yhan, the White Viper.
Probably not that long in gridania since gridanians like massacring them on a regular basis
If it's anything like lions, then the current Nun might receive challenges from Tia, but at current the Tia in the U tribe seem to be doing baby kissing public image stuff. So, it might be democratic to some degree. Like they need to get a certain amount of support from their fellow clansmen to be considered a candidate for the title of Nun.I've been reading up and searching for the answer but haven't found it. I'm sure someone already asked this but it's my first time to play this game.
I did notice in the post of their naming convention about the Nunh and the Tia. Really sounds like how a lion pack are.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand.
Other than that: everyone knows that Miqo'te women don't age past 16.
Yet we advanturers get to murder and pillage as much as we want and remain unpunished.
As the leatherworker questline goes.
"You have shown much respect to the life that was taken for this piece."
yes, quite...
I went and punched at the beast's spleen over and over until it no longer made a sound, it screamed out in agony as I provided it with a long and painful death only to rip the piece of skin off its still warm and twitching corpse and make this nice coat out of it.

Felis catus
Yeah, I feel like adventurers are treated as FF14's version of privateers sometimes. Especially since it's like every independent Miqo'te tribe has been labeled as poachers, and because of that, it's making the poaching problem worse as opposed to better.Yet we advanturers get to murder and pillage as much as we want and remain unpunished.

I wish there was a way to actually learn more about the situation between the Miqo'te tribes and Gridania. Because right now it feels like the elementals are the bigger issue.
from what i recall they use the term "adventurer" because "mercenary" was derogatory. or something.Yeah, I feel like adventurers are treated as FF14's version of privateers sometimes. Functionally we are mercenaries, except perhaps as it relates to job/class quests and the Sions. On topicish: one thing thats interesting that in XI child mithra were around but in XIV the closest there are to kids are some npcs who look like they may be preteens in the U storyline. I wonder where they are hiding the kittens. It also makes me wonder if Forgotten Springs is a hunting camp or something and the rest of the tribe is elsewhere away from outsiders.

Nope, "adventurer" and "mercenary" are two different terms! Or at least according to the ishgardians.
"What a sellsword lacks in morals an adventurer lacks in sense", or something to such level as well as "No task menial enough and no cause sufficiently noble" used to describe adventurers as well, those who would do anything, yet cannot be held to a single cause.
It appears that they literally draw the line between adventurer and mercenary on the "Will you be a scoundrel" question. An adventurer might do some questionable acts, but only on the belief of doing something good and perhaps even to near no reward, whereas a mercenary would do anything as long as paid. Which is why, perhaps, the game seems to assume that, let's say, our hunting for material in the shroud is done with the same reverence as the locals do.
