you honestly must be delusional. I'm not against allowing it, but the reality is only a very small minuscule portion of the player base even bothers complaining on here, regardless of what the issue is.

You can think what you want, but i'm pretty sure you'll find more gamers in the world that are supportive of this sort of thing then against it. When a company makes a statement on either side of an ideal, there's a customer reaction; The more important the ideal in question, the bigger the reaction it gets.

A fair thing to get offended over would be if FFXIV had, say... a marriage system with gameplay benefits, but only a male and female could get married (there are many Korean MMOs that have this kind of feature), I would think outrage over that kind of a feature would be justified.

The same can be said when a man plays as a woman despite being heterosexual and being told he needs to find a guy. It is at the end your psychology that does not allow you to enjoy the content subjectively without asking SE to help you project yourself as a homosexual man.
The game just cannot cater to every single thing, it is a permeating effect in every aspect of life.

He isn't making failed arguments, you just can't let go that this is a video game, and not some virtual reality mirror of real life. It DOES NOT have to mimic real life in every freakin' aspect. Why can't people understand this? It honestly boggles the mind why people are so upset about this, regardless of sexuality or gender.

There are MMO's, single player games, and every other form of media that caters to every sexuality, and every gender now. Going around demanding every game be the way YOU want it, is kind of silly to be honest with you. If that's the case, I want to see you spear-heading the movement for marriage and LGBT events in every single MMO that's currently being played.
