I don't believe they have said such a thing. I think they will never allow it personally. Think about it, these jobs have iconic looks like the black mage costume for instance. If they allow us to color it then we have exhausted all of the color options they have in the future. AF13 will look like AF1 but different color.

Not letting us dye AF because "we'll exhaust their future color options" is honestly a really lame excuse. Aside from that, SE has already shown that they will create entirely new AF armor instead of just recoloring it ad infinitum which is nice. I'll be disappointed yet again though if they disallow dyeing options again. I'm sure plenty of BLMs would have at least liked to redye their gear to have classic BLM colors as the BLM npc in Ul'dah.
