I wouldn't mind something along the lines of a Treasure Hunt, except it'd be a Bounty Hunt. Basically you have to kill a tough enemy, but the trick is finding it. You just get told who you have to hunt, not where. So you have to trek over the whole game world to find the bloody thing. Once you do, it'd be a rough fight that's tailored to your class's strengths. For instance, a SMN might actually get the boss and a less strong add. A WHM might get a NPC helper that actually does the main damage, and you have to keep them healthy to beat the monster, ect ect.

So you don't play any Beastmen Dailies right? Since that stuff is mostly just vanity, dyes, mounts, small amount of tomes, gil.
Same for treasurehunt where it's just mostly vanity stuff, and aether gear here and there which isn't useful for end-game character (aside from spirit bonding).
Odin/Behemoth is pretty much same too, all you get is an item you trade if you get gold/silver medal for vanity gear...

If you want upward progression gearwise, the new dungeons, CT, Bahamut's Coil, Primal HM, Primal EX - We got all those in place.
This feature is to expand the game horizontally, giving more option to the player what they can do in that day, if the content isn't for you, you just simply skip it.

I apolgoize, that was stupid of me to do... I know there were other bring back open world NM/HNM threads so just wanted to point out this was a different one with my thoughts and ideas in the first post... sorry - asked the mods to see if they can remove that.

Use tomes to buy pop items for weaker mm. Let them have a chance to drop higher tier pop items. This would give alternative uses for tomes as well as new group content

That's what I just posted on the JP side lol. They were mentioning what's different from the current treasure hunt system? So I mentioned it probably can use the same treasure hunt system. Using an existing system would be much easier for the devs than making a brand new system.

But instead of gatherers finding the treasure maps, have the trigger item (item to pop the NM/HNM) drop from bounties in Guild Leves, Dungeon Chest Loot (as extra/bonus), or through usage of tomes so the tomes have other reasons to be used once everyone has the darklight, and don't need the crafting materials. I think it's a great idea to keep older content alive (for some more time).

I've always supported the idea of having more open-world content, and while the OP's idea is good in theory, I think it would end up being a waste of time to implement. Any content that is challenging enough to require a skilled group needs to reward them through an enhancement to that skill (i.e. stat gear). I think groups would probably attempt the HNM's being described once, out of curiosity, and that would be the end of it. After a week or two, these HNM's would largely sit unchallenged as FC's moved on to more "serious" business in-game.

Some good ideas in here. I for one am all for more content that is worth while, and gets us out of the cities/DF queues to explore and have fun. I'm not much for the rewards and such of the Treasure Hunting, but when I do it with my FC mates, just the feeling of a bunch of i80-i90 adventurers running around old areas on our pack of chocobos is almost worth it alone. It is fun chatting and just coming together as a group, instead of constant DF queues that often times not everyone is interested in. I'd love more opportunity for open world content.

Adding onto what they could do with existing areas, it would be cool to have more things in higher level areas (like Beastman areas) where group things like Treasure Hunting and proposed ideas like in here could take place. Don't get me wrong, I very much appreciate SE's design, but I really think there could be a best of both worlds in this game that everyone would find fun.

Could even make it really easy to implement by simply sticking bosses from dungeons out in the wild rarely spawning, that drop stuff similar to the actual instance boss but without having to run the entire instance. Maybe these versions are a different color, and can be sold on the market. Could make it a mini fate-like event that doesn't show up on the map, too. That way you could stick a level cap on it so for example if you wanted to fight Aiatar from Brayflox who would probably spawn near Costa Del Sol, you'd be synced down to 34 and need a small party to help take it down, but once it's claimed, only that party who claimed can attack. This would avoid level 50s from claiming and 2 shotting weaker bosses. The whole killing mobs and the treasure chest spawning groundwork has already been laid out with treasure hunts, the instance bosses are already in, the fate and level sync is in, it shouldn't take too much to add.

Also, random open world named monsters. I don't care if they just drop an Aetherial piece or the odd rare green that may be slightly better than what you'd get in a dungeon, but the open world in this game is a total joke. Nobody has any reason to leave a main city or Mor dhona

Yes for OPEN world NM, as long as fight is fun and difficult so not every alt can beat it the day after it being created.

i want are gear, when i say rare, only small % of the population should be able to obtain it, What i mean by that is i dont wanna see gear X on every character that passe some like now.

Gears and Weapon should drop as well, as long as the pop is not monopolized, FFXIV 1.0 had it good, it made it so the pop is almost the entire zone.

Also, claimer lock down is needed, so we dont have 7000 people zerging it.
