    Good to know.

Just to clarify, I'm not suggesting BRD cannot hit 300 DPS on a dumy parse. I fully expect they should be able to, considering I can hit 390+ on my i90 MNK.

I simply have not seen any BRD hit 300+ in content. Twintania I feel like is a good measuring stick as content in that it doesn't particularly punish any one job over another (except maybe BLMs, but BLMs only really perform amazing for AoE heavy instances).

As for that particular parse, I can't say how the jail/conflag distribution was during the fight. I recall getting conflagged at least once personally, and I know I got targeted by the first set of Liquid Hells in the last phase, leading to quite a bit of off time. I never got jailed by DKs though, and I suspect the BRDs did. I typically see in the 270-280 range for the BRDs I play with for Turn 5, who are among the most competent I've played with.

For dummy dps, my fc leader made this -
    http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...m_please_help/

It's an interesting reference since the test rules are 6 minutes. No songs to help or consumables, no party buff.
This is why the numbers might be lower than the usual parses.

Oh wow... that MNK parse value is incredibly low... then again if the parse forces 6 minutes flat across multiple jobs, it means it forces MNK to spend time TP starved which... is just silly.

Well, that's true for all except Blm and, to a lesser extent, SMN.
He mentioned that a monk parse for 4-5min would acceptable. The timing was normalized, but as a result it didn't favor MNK, DRG and BRD to some extent.
At the same time, it was meant to stress the resource to some extent.

Unfortunately, no one submitted a better parse for MNK with a shorter time. You have to be wearing BiS anyway.

Forcing a parse with time spent TP starved has no practical meaning though. It's just entirely silly.

I have Allagan Baghnakhs and a full i90 setup (not BiS, but close) and just did my usual parse that involves 2 uses of Invigorate and a single use of Perfect Balance strictly for the opener. No Fracture used. No food. No party buff.

    Here it is: http://goo.gl/K85oSe
Here is the gear I had on: http://goo.gl/RXKuIa

Comes out to about a 3.5 minute parse. I can't see a MNK parse being much longer without considerable time spent TP starved.

Our FC does something similar, but has a different standard parse setup for each job. What matters is people parsing a job stick to the same standard, but enforcing a standard across all jobs is silly.

I suspect some people think it simulates content, but no... it really doesn't lol. I never spend time TP starved in any content unless I just died after recently using Invigorate for some reason.

It simulates downtime where you damage is naturally reduced. Waiting for TP may not happen in real fights but almost all fights have time where you wait around and your dps lowers.
This is why your T5 parse is 300 while you're 366 on a dummy. It's not simulating TP starvation, it's simulating downtime. That's what I believe anyway.

However, the parameters of TP starvation aren't equal and doesn't favor MNK.
I'll give your parse as source since your gear is pretty close.

Anyway, this is mine with Hellish Claws.

I'll probably be switching to ACT soon. I still like lose a few dps waiting for the history interval to end.

So if it simulates downtime, how does that work for say... BLM? BLM can go on indefinitely on a dummy, whereas for content it suffers from pretty much the same range of downtime as any other job. That's my point.

Anyway, I did another parse. I read through the page and saw that apparently they don't care about accuracy, so I switched some gear and did what I could to optimize my TP use.

Here is the resulting parse: http://goo.gl/qSaFnX

I suppose it's above what anybody else posted apparently, but it's far from what I can actually parse with this same gear if I don't try to stretch to 6 minutes.

(Also, at least for now I'd stick to ACT. Most accurate parser at the moment.)

I have to say, I'm with NoctisUmbra on this. Forcefully starving yourself on TP isn't even remotely close to simulating a real combat situation where you run dry on TP or are forced to stop DPS due to mechanics. There's not really a good way of even simulating it I think given that each fight has it's own set of circumstances. I view dummy parsing purely as a best case scenario of what I'm capable of. Real combat is real combat, and as such can and will vary quite wildly.

Anyway, definitely give ACT a shot. I've never been terribly impressed with FFXIVApp. I also love the more detailed information you can get out of ACT.

Well the other classes wasn't as stressed for keeping up to 6 minutes. My FC leader admitted that he would allow for lower time parses due to this but didn't get any monk references since.
I don't give mine since I don't have the Baghnakhs and there is a monk with that and the cuirass in our FC.

Also, the BiS for Monk he has is just off, and I have to talk to him about it.
Even for a zero accuracy set, Fuma doesn't outweigh the Cuirass.

The most interesting thing about the thread was that the BLM lost to the TP starved MNK.
SMN is low but it doesn't lose much damage to mechanics, unlike BLM.

Actually, I messed around a bit to minimize my time spent TP starved, and that's how I got that high parse at 6+ minutes. If he's willing to accept a lower duration parse though I'll go ahead and do a non starved with the same non accuracy gear.

I agree for sure that the Cuirass is better than Fuma body. For sure. The Melee Cyclas though is just a subpar piece.

I posted my 6m parse there already. Going to edit it with a shorter parse soon.

Here's the short parse in attempt to hit the DPS cap: http://goo.gl/Qa2B3J
