This is why I love my marauder & warrior armors. I like the skirts, but I also like to have something that says, "I'm here to work." And, of course, by "work" I mean, "shove this axe... ahem."Gotta say, i'm getting a little tired of the gender armour.. I don't know if even half the costume designers have actually spoken to a real woman, but not all of us want to wear miniskirts, high stockings and generally look like every outfit was designed to be modeled in front of a guy; While the male version of the outfit looks like an actual outfit that's suited to be worn outside.
I mean really.. you see both of those outfits being worn by people in the real world; Most would think that the man was a chef at a restaurant (even if they thought the colour scheme was gaudy); While the look of the female armour would get her pegged as a theme stripper.
I'm not saying -don't- make the miniskirt (and other armours) but give the women a chance to wear the respectable clothes (and of course give the guys the chance to wear their own *ahem* stylized clothing.)

No, i meant not all of us, because not all of us want to have mini or micro skirts as the only option for seasonal clothing; The words are in black and white, read what they say instead of what you think they 'really' mean.
And as i said in earlier posts, you can have your maid outfit, you can keep your micro-skirt White Mage AF gear.. but at least give those of us who don't want to display ourselves to the world a viable option for rewards; I'd rather not have to go back to a select few craftable pieces of armour just to get a decent pair of pants. I say select few because there's a good deal of miniskirt and revealing tops through the levels (On a side note.. that gear is -very- impractical if you're going into the gathering, smithing or cooking professions :P)
Let us get the respectable looking outfit for the holiday if we wanted to. SQE could also let the guys get the maid outfit too; There's plenty of guys out there that would wear the miniskirt, whether it was personal taste or to just get a laugh from friends.

Gonna be THAT guy and ask...
Any word on whether the consumable items are gender-locked as well? Like male characters ONLY get the left half while female characters ONLY get the right half or vice-versa? I heard that they might be and I was sorely disappointed, but I wanted to make absolutely sure before I jumped to conclusions.
Huh.. y'know.. i never actually thought to think about that; I kind of just assumed that they would be just two separate items and you only get to choose one during the holiday.Gonna be THAT guy and ask...

If that's the case, my SO and I might not be the happiest people at the end of the holiday.
I don't have an SO myself, but I know folks that do and I think it's kinda important to ask since there are many players (myself included) that "take an alternate approach" to romance.
I have to think that we'll just be able to choose one upon a completion of the quest.
So far, SQE hasn't wanted to make any real stand on this kind of issue... Usually they've wanted to ignore it, i wouldn't think they would cause themselves unnecessary flak by taking a stand now (on the Valentine's event of all things).
I'd be very disappointed if they chose to go that route.

That could explain why there's no explicit warning or pointing out of things towards such things. I guess we'll find out during the event, won't we?I have to think that we'll just be able to choose one upon a completion of the quest. Why am I having flashbacks to Sakura Taisen's combination attacks?Lover Limit Breaks
In the Sakura Taisen games, once your protagonist had gotten a certain level of affection from a girl, they could do a combine spirit attack that did massive damage on the battlefield and some extra effects. 2 even had a heart big enough that it would make you go "behold the power of love!" as all enemies around you died. >.>
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
