I stopped reading at "I cancelled my sub."
It would have been a lot more helpful and less time wasted had you said that first.
Enjoy.

I enjoyed the story and I'm currently enjoying the end game. I may get tired of it eventually (EQ, WOW, SWTOR...I got tired of each after a time), but for now, it's my current MMO of choice. If I get tired of it, I'll just move on. Nothing wrong with that.
How weird. One of the first things I said to my self when I finished the main story was "Wow this game feels like an actual Final Fantasy game." It still does, and the mysteries just get better once you see the post turn 5 cut scene. While the voice acting isn't the greatest, it adds a lot to the character and shows you more how SE envisioned the character to be, more than text ever could. I will agree that the combat can be hit or miss at times but for the most part it is very solid, really showing how good it is in the high end fights.
When it comes to the atmosphere and the world of the game, I cannot help but disagree, the game is beautiful and extremely detailed with lots of little details to find and add to the world, if you let loading zones (only thing I can come up with really as to what would possibly ruin the games atmosphere) ruin that for you, you are being pretty closed minded imo. My biggest complaint here would be size of the zones and how packed each zone is, having 2 different settlements only 30 seconds apart and then hearing its some week long trek to get to the other is kind of immersion breaking, but this is not the first game to commit that. I don't honestly know what else they could really add that would increase the fun of "exploration," I would like to hear why people don't like exploring in this game and what would actually improve it, cause imo the game has what ever other does, just on a much smaller scale (that could be the problem /shrug.)
I would just like to say as well, that this is one of the very few MMOs where the world actually feels "Alive" so to speak. The NPCs animations and just the way they hang out around the world is really very well done and I could not compare it to another MMO or even a regular video game that uses NPCs, that could match its level of detail on the NPCs. Imo this is one area of the game that really gives it a push in the right direction and makes it bearable to keep going from place to place, and not just sit in a hub all day.
I could write a whole bit about the weather effects, but I'll just leave it simple. They are probably the best weather effects in any MMO. With just a bit more touch-ups, it will meet the quality of stuff out of Skyrim and other modded games with great weather.
As for customization, I agree it is limited and needs work, but it is also pretty decent for the first year of the game, I rarely see other characters who look like me and even more rare if its exactly the same (Style, color, armor etc.) Just needs some more hairstyles, and clothing options I suppose. I dunno I never really thought about it as it isn't as big a problem as it is in other MMOs.

I don't disagree that the game is bland and in need of world content rather than more instances, but every single Final Fantasy game outside of Tactics is pretty much a "mash X" fest throughout a majority of each game. This one is much less mashy than say, FFVII.

You also might want to note that my post doesn't contain, You, Mihael_Longclaw, are any of the things I said. It's directed to the other 10 billion threads(and to a certain point, on the poster that you quoted) that complain about everything.
People sure get defensive really fast just because you quoted them lol
I actually encourage those who are opposed to the direction of the game to unsubscribe. The game will not change if we continue to feed them money.
