its not a nuisance if a high level mob is chasing you and it has a higher chance of killing you than you it.

it's a threat, and it wants to tear your face off and feed your corpse to it's children.

    Hm..

I wonder if it's possible to have mobs react based on our iLvls?

This x 1000! It absolutely annoys the s*** out of me when I get the heavy status, and I ask myself why even have it? I mean think about this, say you are an iLvl 90 level 50 and you're running through the Sylphlands for your daily quests. You get hit with something like Thunder, while riding your chocobo and you now have heavy. You continue riding forward, trying to get to your destination, which is across the zone, and you're just about to be done with that god awful 20 second timer on heavy, when what happens? You get touched by another mob, and the heavy timer RESETS back to 20. Again, why? It poses no extra danger to have heavy, you will get away, just annoyingly slow. It's not like having the heavy status has any chance in hell of letting the surrounding mobs kill you. None at all. So other than to annoy the living s*** out of people, why let mobs give players a heavy status just because they are riding their mounts?

I'm fine with mounts getting Heavy if you're below half HP. If that happens, you're actually in danger. Too bad there are no mobs over level 50 anymore.

Might as well just Sprint anywhere. Can't get half-movement gravity while Sprinting. Yay mounts. Punished for obtaining rewards ftw.

God I wish. Nothing more irritating than being Heavy'ed by pointless mobs.

You should fall off, break your legs and die.

This would also apply a 30m debuff to your character inflicting slow and random paralyze.

But seriously the open world needs more life and danger brought into it, finding getting around and being "Slowed" a nusance should be hillarious to how bad it should be to get caught with your proverbial pants down in the midst of a beastmen stronghold. But until they reintrotudce good agro mechanics and don't leash monsters 10 steps from their spawn point, they could hit like Mike Tyson punching a baby and nobody would worry.

The thing is, slow is pretty much pointless and just a pain in the ass. You know what happens when I get slowed? I just let mobs hit me until it wears off & I go wherever I wanted to. If I was getting hit hard it would be different and even fun to defend myself and fight, but the way it is now its just super annoying.

The simplest solution is to just reduce the heavy duration. I understand why they want to keep the threat of higher lvl mobs on lower lvl characters, but as has been mentioned, it's only an annoyance to lv50 people.

Instead of 20s, make it 10 or 5.
It's too late to change the foundations of the open world now without adding new areas.
