Thank you for all of the kind replies everyone. MNK is my second job and I just started playing him seriously yesterday and I can see when GL is at 3 stacks but something more obvious would be nice. Addons would help with that. I think I should have brought up WAR's wrath. There is zero indication you are at 5 stacks aside from abilities lighting up on your hotbar. I can deal with it no problem, but an aura would make life a little easier.
Have fun!

It may not be Verizon FIOS or your PC. But it's not exactly their infrastructure either. The internet backbone in the US has arthritis along with a hunchback. Here's looking at you level3 palo alto hop.... Here's looking at you....

I'm not going to argue about this in this thread as there are multiple post(hundreds) on the tech forums about it. The servers are in Canada(bad decision) and it's SE's ISP. If you have been told any different its from bad info or people are lying. The only way to fix this is for SE to change their ISP and/or put a server in the USA. You can say whatever you want but when this is the only game I own out of hundreds that lags...yea. It's on their end and they can fix it. It cost money so they are trying to avoid it.
I don't see how anyone can deny this anymore when there are literally hundreds of post in the tech support forums from people all over the world with various ISP's complaining. I love this game and we as players are on the same 'team'. We all want to enjoy the game and have fun. Many times we can't due to SE.

You make it sound like Montreal is a whole different continent. It is just north of Vermont. Essentially, it's an east coast server. I would love to have a west coast server. I am not saying SE doesn't have some work to do on their end, but you can only do so much when the routing to get to Montreal is shit. I still manage to have fun when playing from Cali and can consistently dodge most everything and even when I can't, I still have fun with my FC mates.I'm not going to argue about this in this thread as there are multiple post(hundreds) on the tech forums about it. I'm going to add a lot of players don't experience lag in other games because of the server location. For example WoW has many datacenters that are closer to most players: New York, Chicago, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. FFXIV only has Montreal datacenter for NA/EU. Further you are from datacenter the more hops and the increase chance of hitting a device that causes latency issues.
I don't see SE taking much risks by adding another datacenter given their financial situation, which is sad because it causes players to stop playing the game.

I live in Buffalo, NY. I have played on servers on other continents that have less latency. I have never played a game that had their data centers in Canada(Well maybe a BF4 server, but that had zero lag). I have a feeling that the routing on the way there is horrible, but I know nothing about Canadian ISP's. Plain and simple..they need more data centers. If the game grows I believe they will. If not it will be one of the things that makes this game fall.

I most definitely agree with both statements. The Montreal DC is going to bust sooner or later. MMO's aren't as bad but playing FPS like CoD or BF and I see a huge difference between east coast or west coast. Especially going to the east coast. I am not as surprised that I have issues going to Montreal. What does bother me is that SE is paving the streets of Montreal with gold, but it doesn't matter when I have a dirt road to cross to get there. But like I said, the game is more than playable for me, and I still have fun. Most likely because the hard fights have memorization of what's coming so I just move a half second sooner. The only thing I hate is coincounter in AV. No matter how much moving I do, I know I am going to eat 90% of glowers.

WAR gets a bigger and bigger DBZ like aura around them the more wrath you have, and there is visual explosion/shine when you hit 5 stacks.
My Canadian friends all tell me that was a horrible place for them to put a data center. Your complaints and statements are accurate.I live in Buffalo, NY.
