Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 sigma
Any MMORPG suggestions?
People clearing coil t1-4 before 2.1 in darklight would disagree. If you think you need to have myth gear to start coil, I'm sorry, you either aren't as good as you think you are or miss the point of progression. Why wait till you're i90 to do a dungeon that drops i90 equips? Logic 2 hard.
You would honestly feel the progression more in games like Devil May Cry 3/4, Bayonetta, or the early Ninja Gaiden entries than you will in any MMO unless you join super late in its life when all the barriers have been removed to allow for swift catchup. Naturally there are exceptions to the rule, but they're usually the pay2win f2p games. I'm sure there are some quality MMORPGs with what you're looking for, but I sure as hell couldn't name any.
Dark Souls has the Single player MMO kinda experience
Now for the argument of "well if we didn't throw the mommy cap on you, then you would have nothing to do after getting end gear in 1-2 weeks." This should be the choice of the player. A player should be rewarded for willing to put more time and effort into a game. It's as bad as the government and socialists trying to invade all our private lives and run everything including how many times we are allowed to wipe our butt per times we take a dump.
I understand you don't like the cap. However, I have difficulty believing that if you are willing to come onto the forums and complain about the cap, that you would not come onto the forums and complain you have nothing left to gain in 2 weeks because you already grinded out full i90 due to no ceiling on gear gains.
You want progression, well, there is progression. It is just not fast enough to suit your personal tastes and that is fine.
Also, about the link you posted... that seems to be in referance to Tera, so I'm not gonna read that. Seems kind of irrelevant when discussing a different game alltogether.
NOTE: I'm basically in the same boat as you, by the way. For the first time since logging in and firing up a lvl 1 character, this week I realize that due to tome caps, I had nothing left to do as far as progressing my main job until the next week. It kind of stunk, but that's the game and I'm gonna keep playing until it becomes something truly bothersome. As it is, I spent the week helping my FC mates run random dungeons and otherwise occupying myself. Your mileage may vary.
NOTE #2: Give EVE Online a try.

I don't even understand this thread...I also think the term 'mommy cap' is weird >.>
If you have darklight, relic and food you can start doing Coil and be a perfectly well geared, contributing member of your group. If you need to obtain some upgrades that aren't affected by the weekly cap, you should consider running Ultima HM for accessories and Extreme Primals
Well just FYI, despite the myth cap there is the Allagan gears from T1-T4.
If that still makes u bored on Tuesday - Sunday, then there is the extreme mode primals that if you beat all 3 of them you can obtain another i90 item which some of these items to be honest have a better stats than what i wanted from the zenith relic. Apart from primal weapon, you have a chance for mount and primal material.
If this still does not get you up in the game, then there is always crafting or gathering.
If you are a type hating to craft and gather, then go help some newbies or your FC mates on Titan HM and teach them the game.
If you are selfish and lazy to help newbies on conquering Titan HM, then do treasure hunt.
If you hate the mommy cap because it does not help you to boast that you are now going to be the next world's first by conquering endgame raids and etc, just to let you know not all Myth gears are the BiS. You will get more greedy when you want the BiS items.
If all of the contents don't satisfy you, move on to a new game.
Simple as that. Contents not fulfilling your "hardcore" desires, just move on. Rather than whining on the forums and letting people troll you.
PS: you take it as no challenge might be due to there is existing walkthrough videos around, why not trying to not even watch the walkthrough and learn yourself. Then you know what is challenge.

Really two months and your done?
I've been here since P3 testing, then P4 were our data got carried over and I'm still not at Lv50 (granted I did re-roll on an EU World when launch came, but I was only lv20 in P4 testing).
Just how much time do you have on your hands? Because short of been under house arrest or house bound with something else you really should go and do real world things - not been mean when I say that but seriously sounds like you (and many others, as I've said before) spend too much time playing games.
As for that GW2 comparison, yeah thats fair compare an 18month old game to one thats not even six months old yet.
