This decision also really makes me happy.

However I still am not clear on why housing was screwed up from the start. I feel that Yoshi has not given any good reason why housing was priced so high that no one would buy them and the smalls were also so small that no one would buy. What was he trying to accomplish? Anyone could have figured out that SE would have to do a complete reversal.

I feel like this whole housing mess could have been avoided. Its frustrating to have to keep waiting for something that should have been gotten right back in mid-December. Its taking way too long.

At least I'm happy that Yoshi admitted his housing decision has completely messed up the economy and they are taking steps to start fixing stuff. We'll see. I'm hoping this is a learning moment for him where he takes these kind of decisions more seriously in the future.

He said that he'd based the prices of the houses off of how much gil was on each server. That is why new servers were like 40-50 million for a large houses, and Legacy severs were like 145 million... >.<

That's really all he said about it.

But the way I see it, gil is kinda like real money: You have like 10% of the players that have tons of gil and then everyone else is like middle to low class... so most couldn't afford anything so they had to keep saving and save and saving... That made people stop buying things on the market, but everyone was trying to sell stuff.

Too much supply and far too little demand. I kinda saw this coming when he announced the prices of the housing. But I'm glad they are finally realizing this and are fixing it.
