Yes, kick people for voting. That's how deomocracy should work.
Why is this word used to describe everything? This forum has a terribly stinted vocabulary -___-
Can't say I agree with removing the anonymity of any of the vote systems in place now, much less the Abandon vote. Yes, it's come up in some of my dungeon runs but have all failed and the runs continued as normal. Yeah, I think it's annoying to even have come up, but can't account for everyone all the time. Someone's going to be unhappy with something every time. Just live and let live, keep on keeping on. Guess I'm just too patient, but a little patience goes a long way...
Wow, getting old, aren't I...
Make vote abandon available after 1/2 hour of duty start?
The reason i'm for it is because ive been in an alliance where the vote got rejected and a bit after someone else or the same person clicks the same button, and again and again, its reallyannoying. Should be a kind of time out for a few minutes.
Yes. This is indeed the spirit of democracy.
Stomp the rebellion and opposition, muffle their cries as they smother to death.
Being serious, while maybe making the voter public is bad, we should atleast have a CD on the thing. 5 mins for regular dungeons and 15 mins for CT (totally arbitrary numbers). Obviously applied to the player that started it, a different player may initiate a new vote.
This would pretty much prevent this, atleast, help it. I don't know if it's not there already, as I've only seen one vote abandon (I dont really do duty finder often).
Reason why this particular vote popped up? Someone got their piece of loot, or the thing they wanted didn't drop, so they proceeded to start one, since no one accepted they dropped.
Actually had this issue in Ultima today. We had a single whipe as people started to get used to it, and instantly -> A member has voted to abandon the duty.
Me, the paladin, and the two healers laugh it off, instantly shooting it down. We give it another go, get a bit further but still whipe -> A member has voted to abandon the duty.
Ok, we're still laughing, though getting annoyed now. We just keep going, and point out that if they don't want to be here, "They can leave or ask to be kicked, but don't bring the rest of us down with you."
Another run, another whipe, vote to dismiss duty. Again shot down, as we got substantially further. We point out again to please leave if you don't want to be there, but silence.
We run it two more times after that. The first one is a whipe due to Ultima casting Ultima, so a slight DPS check. No vote dismiss that time! the second time was a clear, and a success. Had that person had their way, no one would've gotten a victory - but on that day, we got a Black Mage ring. :3
I don't really see the point of adding a feature that circumvents the punishment of leaving by ruining it for everyone else with only 50% votes.
Maybe I'm not seeing the main focus here.
